I found 2 (I think) new working streams for Al Jazeera America w/o geoblocking... Any chance it can be added again?

@castalla - Sky News english streams seem to be close to non-existent at this point.

@pr0fessor - None of the streams are working from what i can see.

I've loaded this on my Win 7 laptop and it works great. This weekend I resurrected an old htpc running an Asus M2NPV-VM and loaded OpenElec on it. On the OpenElect several of the feeds don't seem to work - Al Jazeera, CNN International, etc.. A few work, BBC, Itv24 plus a couple more.

Is there a reason that the Win7 machine works better than the OpenElect? Is OpenElect missing some support files or something?

I loaded the old M2NPV-VM board with Win7 32bit, all the updates, flash and java.

Loaded XBMC and then the World News Live add on and it acts just like it does under OpenElec - some channels work, some don't. Most notably CNN international.

I can use my laptop and CNN International plays fine.

I have the same behavior on a first generation Apple TV running Crystalbuntu that I just picked up.

Any ideas why the lap top works better than the rest?

@SLR65 Will probably need to see some snippets from the logs to see what is it complaining about, are the dns servers used the same?

Forgive me, I'm an XBMC newbie, what are the log file names and where are they located in a Win 7 or OpenElec system?

I'm using an old wrt54 router, I've tried both wired and wireless with the same results.

In both instances I tried to play CNN International, all three resolutions, never saw any video or got any audio. I did get an error once that said the stream failed to play and to check the logs.

Steve make sure you are using the latest version which is 1.3.5.5 .
At least from looking at the Openelec log it seems for example for CNN you have an older stream url "OnPlayMedia plugin://plugin.video.world.news.live/?stream_url=rtmp%3A%2F%2Fhd1.lsops.net%2Flive%2F+playpath%3Dcnn_en_584" .

<blush> You are correct! The laptop had the current version. I was sure I'd copied the install zip over to the server for the other machines, but evidently not as they had an older version.

Updated everything to the current and version and all is good now.
