How to make focus not on parent folder?

I am XBMC and MediaStream mainly MOVIES and TV SHOWS. Is it possible to have the focus on the first item instead of the parent folder item when you first enter these sections?

Even better still is it possible to have the focus left on the last item you left it on? I know this is the case when moving about, but when XBMC is exited, this is never remembered for the next time it is fired up...

You can turn of the parent folders in Settings > Appearance > File Lists.

Well, that certainly removes the parent folder item and does what I want, but now how do I go up a folder?

(For when I need to perform an update of the fan art and info...)
