Help in setting up media portal for pvrvuse

Downloaded mediapotal tv server, when i click on desktop icon it then brings up SQL server setting when I hit test with my SQ I have two options Microsoft SQL or my SQL I opted for my SQL but it does not matter which one I then hit test then it highlights the hostname in red followed by a message host Paul pc is not allowed to connect to the server, I have posted in pvr section about this but I'm trying to run this on win 7 to try it before I build a Linux system, anyone point me in the right direction I'm tearing my hair out ( not a pretty site) just can't figure it out
