You mean frontend running not on appletv but on other server?

i used a my essentials usb wifi dongle http://www.myessentialssupport.com/produ...ME1001-USB
it uses the zd1211rw driver which is built as a module in the kernel used in this release so you dont have to install anything, just plug it in and it will be recognized. my largest complain is that the device is too bulky. it fist fine but if anyone finds a similar solution with a smaller USB dongle it would be nice.
i followed instructions here to set it up and try it: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WifiDocs/WiFiHowTo then i modified /etc/network/interfaces as follows:
Code:# This file describes the network interfaces available on your system
# and how to activate them. For more information, see interfaces(5).
# The loopback network interface
auto lo
iface lo inet loopback
# The primary network interface
auto eth1
iface eth1 inet dhcp
wireless-essid the_name_of_your_network
wireless-key FEFEFEFEFE
wireless-mode managed
you can google wep key generator if your router doesnt generate by itself. this is for 64 bit wep encryption. if you can make it work with wpa, please post how.
i then installed transmission-daemon according to this: http://www.webupd8.org/2009/12/setting-u...ui-in.html. so now i can access it remotely with transgui remote or by browser.

You made the mistake of making things too complicated. Wanting everything you installed to run on something as anemic as the ATV is asking for trouble down the road. Have you gone through the process of having the ATV "learn" the remote again? IIRC, you have to go through that procedure to get it to recognize the Harmony in the first place. If you run atvclient via CLI does the process actually run or does it fail?
pumkinut Wrote:Try holding the Menu and Left arrow buttons together for about 6 seconds in front of the ATV's IR receiver. It sounds like the ATV no longer recognizes your remote. I had to do this with my Harmony when I first used it, in fact the Logitech desktop software specifically said to perform this procedure.
