Is there any way to use Wimp.no on XBMC?

Can't believe they're ditching the beautiful mp4 stream for rtmp garbage. Xbmc can play rtmpt, but I'm not sure what they're using is standard rtmpt. rtmpdump just fails with 'failed to read RTMP packet header' for me

I'm guessing it's related to this: http://e24.no/digital/feil-i-wimp-gjoer-...n/23249078 funny how they call it an "error"

Yeah, i have the same issue with rtmpdump. I believe the developers made it in mp4 for a reason, but obviously the record companies doesn't want an easy accessible stream.

Funny thing is that downloading songs can be done using the unofficial Spotify Web API as well, and that has been possible for years. I don't see how this is any different (except that WIMP provides an HIFI subscription).

After the recent update of the web player, it now works in rtmpdump and xbmc. There's no swf verification or anything, you only need a playpath from the streamUrl page. Just remember it's generated an expire after some time.
