Just wanted to elaborate on my experience from the release of the "untethered JB"

I did see the exact same things already being discussed here:

ATV2 Firmware 4.3.1 & untethered JB & XBMC compiled April 1'st
  1. Sound issues
  2. Samba/SMB issues
  3. Saurik.list empty (etc/apt/sources.list.d) -causing seatbeltunlock -bsdiff & GAWK dependency issues

ATV2 Firmware 4.3.1 & tethered JB (Seas0npass) & XBMC compiled April 1'st
  1. NO Sound issues
  2. NO Samba/SMB issues
  3. A number of other repos residing in /etc/apt/sources.list.d

I also tried to #cp the entire "/etc/apt" directory over to the untethered installation, and tried with an apt-get update/upgrade, before applying the XBMC installation once again.

The outcome from that was still XBMC being fubar. Stare I do wonder if we are just missing out an unseen deb file not being installed.

hmm... I just got rid of the untethered pwnage tool 4.3.1 jailbreak and tried the tethered seas0npass method.
The smb shares work fine now and I don't get that "failed to initialize audio error" however, I now have that static audio back when I try to play files with 5.1 audio.

I had this problem back with the original ATV2 firmware but it was solved in 4.2 (i think)

I think I'm just going to give up and go back to 4.2.1. I really wanted that 3rd party airplay support though Sad

riconster Wrote:$ ssh root@<your ATV2 IP address>

root@<your ATV2 IP address>'s password: ''enter your password here, it should be "alpine" if you haven't changed it''

$ echo "deb http://apt.saurik.com/ tangelo-3.7 main">/etc/apt/sources.list.d/saurik.list

$ apt-get update
$ apt-get -f install org.xbmc.xbmc-atv2

I thought sn0wbreeze 2.5 also supports untethered jailbreak on atv2 ... so it would be good to know if the audio issue is there with this jb also... can't test right know, because i'm at work...

I´ve jailbreaked my Apple TV 2 with the new 4.3.1 Jailbreak and now I become this error message when I play a showTv :
I cant initialized sound and when I'm playing Movies , then reset XBMC .
When I had the firmware 4.2 the XBMC ,it worked fine , but whit 4.3.1 I have that problem.

As of http://web.archiveorange.com/archive/v/q...QLiSy48MKC we hit a kernel exception here ... so this just hardens the opinion of a jailbreak issue (which does kernel stuff afaik). Mhh hopefully the dev-teams get aware of this somehow ... i don't think that XBMC can do anything about it ...
