I got some inspiration and cooked this mockup up in PS.
Any chance that I could get someone who knows how to do the programming for a skin to partner up and turn this into a reality?

I'm also open to critique as to how to improve the appearance.

Works great in this particular combination of artwork. The white text is readable since the background is dark, and the poster art pops out since the fanart doesn't use many colors.

However, depending on the combination of artwork I think it might look pretty bad sometimes.

The text would need some kind of background, outline or shadow to be readable on light backgrounds. Cropping the top and bottom of the fanart to a non-standard aspect ration like that might not be ideal either, depending on the fanart used.

Would need to see a few more images, some with very busy fanart with lots of colors.

Unfortunately one screen does not make a skin no matter how good it looks.

I suggest you download Foundation and have a look at the Screenshots folder to give you an idea of all the different windows/dialogs you're going to have to design to make a complete skin.
