Movie trailers hang
#1
hey, i am new here, and was wondering if somebody can help me out? i seem to be having a problem with movie trailers. they play fine, but when i stop the trailer, or it just reaches the end, it hangs and locks up the xbox, and i have to reboot. any ideas what i am doing wrong? any help would be greatly appreciated

i am currently using xbmc.cvs.1.14.05

yes, any help you provide would be appreciated, read/follow the faqs, you've not given us anything to work from, need much more information from you in order to even try to help you

i have the same problem. the trailers play but they crash and the only option is to reboot.

i switched to dhcp setting in network settings, but that didn't help.

i ran the aqtbrowser.py script diectly same result.

i installed the 'all-20050115.tar.bz2' codecs from http://www1.mplayerhq.hu/mplayer/releases/codecs but that didnt help either

now, i read the faqs and searched the forums but nothing had the answer im looking for so i come here.

btw im using the 1-31-05 release. if you need any more info let me know

i am having the same problem with aqtbrowser.py. as per your instructions above here is the relevant info:

tv - standard ntsc-us 27" flat screen samsung
xbox - v1.0, xecuter 2.3+lite, bios xecuter2 4983.xx, thompson dvd has problems with some cd-r's
primary dashboard - evox
xbmc build date - i built from cvs as of 2-04-2005, mplayer codecs copied from 1.1.0 release build
running xbmc from e:\apps\xbmc with streaming media from ccxstream on a linux box.

steps to reproduce:

1. run aqtbrowser.py from scripts folder. i launch mine through the submenu.
2. select any trailer to stream.
3. trailer plays for 10-30 seconds, jitters and then hard locks the xbox. control unresponsive, ip connectivity drops, you have to power cycle to get it back.

observations:

1. i have full debug turned on and it doesn't seem to record any crashes, kernel pukes , etc. here is a section from when a stream locked:

2. not sure if there is a diff in the mplayer binary between versions 1.1.0 and cvs2-14-2005. i used codecs from 1.1.0, since i had those on hand.

3. if you increase the network streaming cache in settings the video plays for a bit longer. i bumped mine up to 16mb. still crashes though. i haven't checked to see if it crashes once it plays out the buffer though.

4. video streamed off my fileserver with ccxstream using my videos works fine...however haven't tried it with qt file yes (most of mine are divx). will load up a big qt file this evening and test.

hope this wasn't tooo much info. thanks.
