I need some help from you guys;
We're working a new livecd with Ubuntu 11.10 and xbmc pre-eden installed. This livecd also has support for AMD Fusion systems. The fglrx fglrx-amdcccle libva1 libva-x11-1 xvba-va-driver packages are all installed.
VAAPI HW Acceleration isn't working as expected at the moment, so this is where you guys are hopefully stepping in. The livecd boots straight to XBMC but when I try to play a movie XBMC crashes:
http://pastebin.com/xXkY4RKc
What I tried so far;
First of all the ssh isn't enabled because the xbmc user has no password. In order to enable ssh, press control, alt and F1 all together. Type
, press enter followed by a new password. Ssh should now be enabled.
Next step is to remove the vdpau packages from the system.
Code:
sudo apt-get remove libvdpau1
One thing I'm not sure about are the environmental parameters. I added the following lines to /etc/environment
Code:
LIBVA_DRIVER_NAME=xvba
LIBVA_DRIVERS_PATH=/usr/lib/va/drivers
The asoundrc is also missing; type
and add the following lines:
Code:
pcm.!default {
type plug
slave {
pcm "hdmi"
}
}
Last step is to disable vdpau acceleration from the settings / video / playback menu. Make sure vdpau is disabled and vaapi is the only thing enabled. When I try to play a movie at this stage XBMC crashes:
http://pastebin.com/xXkY4RKc
Once all things have been sorted out a new livecd will be created. Another thing I'm not sure about is vainfo which failes to initialize libva.
Code:
xbmc@live:~$ sudo vainfo
libva: libva version 0.32.0
Xlib: extension "XFree86-DRI" missing on display ":0.0".
libva: va_getDriverName() returns -1
vaInitialize failed with error code -1 (unknown libva error),exit
xbmc@live:~$
Help is needed at this point. If you want to help please try this livecd and follow the steps mentioned before. Thanks in advance.
