Hardware acceleration for 945GM chip?
#1
I've got a fresh XBMC install on Arch Linux. When playing a movie, libva initialization fails with
Code:
libva: libva version 0.32.0
libva: va_getDriverName() returns 0
libva: Trying to open /usr/lib/dri/i915_drv_video.so
libva: va_openDriver() returns -1
i915_drv_video.so does not exist on my machine. I've tried to do some googling but didn't turn up anything for a source on that file.

I've got the intel drivers installed and the mesa package. OpenGL rendering works fine in other programs.

Any ideas?

VAAPI acceleration is not supported on 945 even not on G45 (rumors are that they could get it working on the G45 in this year).

Don't expect anything on the 945. It does not even work on Windows as it does not have the hardware for it.

Sorry.

Well that's disappointing. Oddly enough playback performance is marginally better under windows.
