10.1 Crash to desktop
#1
Hi!

I have been using Plex for a couple of years, but since I started to rip my Blu-Ray's to mkv's, I run into the A/V-sync problem with Plex. No

So then I tried XBMC, which I found is great... Big Grin except that XBMC crashes to the desktop with almost all of my Blu-Ray rips. Sad

I have used makeMkv (version 1.6.6) to make the Mkv-files directly from the Blu-Ray discs. When I try to play the file in XBMC, it crashes at the same point every time. I've tried with/without hardware acceleration and a bunch of other settings, but XBMC still crashes...

The mkv files can be played in VLC without any problem.

Here are the log files:

Thank you for any help Nod

try it without substitles enabled.

that's where you are crashing -> "OVERLAY::CRenderer::Render"

Tried without subtitles enabled and it worked! Big Grin

However, the movie (Red from 2010) also worked when I removed two of the three audio streams with Mkvtoolnix and had the subtitles enabled Oo

Are there any known work-around for this? I mean, should I rip the Blu-Rays in another way than "just point and click" in MakeMkv (if thats the problem)? I really would like to have subtitles enabled for my Blu-Ray mkv's, are there any preferred way to do that?

would need a sample of the one that crashed with subs on. verify that the sample does indeed crash too Smile since you are osx, http://www.dropbox.com works great, 1st 2GBs are free.
