I would imagen that there would not be. As the XBMC Devs use the same programming SDK that Plex Devs use or anyone wanting to create an app for an ATV 2 would use. My point is that the programming calls to the hardware are the same for everyone that uses the official Apple SDK (Software Development Kit). You can't make the video better than what the hardware can display or the programming interface available to address it.

note that he asked in iOS, he probably refers to the iOS client.
Plex is a thinclient in this regard whereas xbmc is a full port. The video quality can be the same but XBMC will decode and present it on its own whereas plex will transcode (which will further destroy the video).
