usb to ide drive not playing cd`s
#1
Hello ,

I have build a new htpc case with p67 chipset without ide connections.
Because i have some dvd drives with ide connection , i have put one of those in the case.
I have a ide to usb connector.
so i connected it with a usb to ide connector.
Now when i want to play a cd , it reads the cd ,it shows album information , but doesnt play it.

What can be wrong here?

i hope someone has an answer.

its been ages since i touched IDE drives but is it cus you dont have the audio cable from the drive connected to the MB?

I have you tried a standalone mp3 player like winamp?

also what OS? i presumed windows.

Hello ,

i installed a sata dvd drive.

Still no audio cd playback in xbmc.
Using the latest version in windows 7 64.

The cd plays fine in windows media player.

What can be wrong?

do you have virtual cd drives? if so, try to swap the drive letters of your real drive and your virtual drive (there was a similar post before in this forum (i was the one having that problem) - the search should help you)
