Changing Proxy Settings? (XBMC on Ubuntu)
#1
Hi All,

I am using XBMC on my laptop and would like to quickly change
the proxy settings to access certain video sites (BBC, Sitzerland, etc.),
when traveling.
Unfortunately the company's network proxy is always the same IP-Address,
so even if you really are in the UK, or in Switzerland, you still seem
to be in Germany...

Is there a plugin for this?
For example, like the foxyproxy plugin from firefox:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox...-standard/

Would be cool. Otherwise I have to settup my own proxy
configuration file, depending on where I am, and what
needs to be accessed.

Thanks for your help,

Would the settings in System -> Network -> Internet Access help you out?

Hello Giftie,

yes, and no.
My hope was, that there is a more convenient way, than changing it manually...

I have to check, whether this can be combined with
the profiles to define a profil per country with the right proxy.

Best regards,

Günter

Hi All,

well, some news here, I was in UK the other day.
The BBC iplayer works, since you can set a local proxy.
Actually the possibility to define a proxy configuration file (pac)
instead of a single proxy would already be enough.
