ASUS EEE 904HD - would like oppinions

Hey all. I have taken a great interest into the XBMC project for over a year now however have not really had time to make it happen. Now before I end up splashing out on some hardware I would like to know if I would enjoy it. I currently have an ASUS EEE 904HD netbook which I have loaded with XBMC Live.

The output is VGA which currently does not bother me as I have a VGA port on my television and I do not own a lot of HD content.

One thing I was thinking about is sound. I have got PC speakers would it be better if I just plugged those into my netbook headphone jack or get an adapter which will play it through composite?

Another thing is where my content is stored. As currently I commute to work I store all my content on a external hard drive. Now when I am at my home with the 904HD in I will have it plugged directly into the USB. When I am at my other home I will plugged it into a family members PC and stream the content. Has anyone had any issues with shares via a USB device isit ok or should it be avoided?
