Maybe this is a stupid question...

...but I'm having a really hard time finding an answer to it. I purchased an apple TV G1 with a 160 gig hard drive with the intention of putting XBMC on there and being able to unload all the movies and TV shows from my macbook onto there. I can currently stream them from my computer using majestic, but I can't seem to figure out how to actually copy the files over. I feel like this should be really easy, but I'm having a hard time figuring it out.

Thanks so much for your help!

Sorry, but I feel like I've tried every google search combination all with no real success.

I'm inexperienced in sftp, but I'll try and poke around for some sort of tutorial.

Thanks for your help!

You can use your Apple TV in 2 ways with XBMC.

1: patch/hack the Apple TV you can do more with it than what Apple intended you to do with it. That is, put XBMC on it and copy files to it and other stuff.

2: path/hack the apple TV and but LINUX on it. Now it's a normal PC so you can do ANYTHING with it.

Option 1 is limited to what you can add to it with regards to adding extra options. To add extra options people have made small apps for the Apple TV.

http://wiki.awkwardtv.org/wiki/NitoTV is one of those apps.

TO copy files easily from your mac to the apple TV, install NitoTV use SSH to copy files or install AFP on the Apple TV to use the finder to connect to your Apple TV.

PLEASE read all the info on the NitoTV link

Good luck
