Aeon Nox 4.1.9 : Showcase mod and more

As Aeon Nox 4.1.9 is stable for few days, I have made this new mod for 4e097d484d commit :

You can then provide your own case, with resolution as Phil think is meaningless to calculate an average resolution

Hello everyone

So according to this this has been changed for Frodo. So I did what it says in the wiki and put that advancedsettings.xml in /private/var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/userdata/. But it didn't change a thing.

I run Frodo 12.2 Git: 20130502-32b1a5e (Compiled: May 2 2013) (it was the same for 12.0 and 12.1) on an ATV2 with ATV software 4.2.1 (2100)
Here's my debug log.

Any help would be appreciated. This drives me nuts. The only way the recently added movies section is useful for me is when it shows you the recently added movies. Not depending on any file dates.

Menu item to launch Music Playlist and Slideshow

Hi,
I have friends come round and when they do I frequently have my TV on in the background with xbmc playing some music as well as a selection of my photos.

At the moment I play an album as normal and then select a photo directory to run a slideshow from, but this is a tedious process.

I want one menu option which I can kick this off together.
e.g.
When I show my california holiday snaps I want to have a 'Born in the USA', 'Hotel California' etc. songs playing
When I show my ski holiday snaps I want to have all the cheeze apri ski music playing

I would like to configure a playlist of music, and a set of photo directories and give these a name.
Then a menu showing a list of all the configured names so all I need to do is select this and the slideshow and music is kicked off.

Is there currently a way of doing this?

Works with Ethernet, problems with Wifi....

HI there,

When using the official xbmc app for iPhone, when using the an Ethernet cable the app finds the Pi easily, however when I try to connect via the WiFi it does not work. The WiFi does connect to the internet (same network as the iPhone) as I tested it with a keyboard. Help would be appreciated.

Labeling Football as TV and Manually adding games

I record all of FSUs football games. I would like to make it to where XBMC reads it as a TV show.
Where each season is the football season. I do not mind doing it all manually. I just do not know how.

I want it to be like this;

TV Shows >
FSU Seminoles Football (Here I would want to add my own Fan Art and name Banner >
Season 1 (This would be there 2012 Season) >
Episode 1 (I would want the Team Name we are playing in that game to be the episode name, and the thumbnail to be an image of that team)

Is any of this possible? Does anybody know of a better way to set it up than the way I want.

XBMC 12 Frodo .ipa file

Hi everybody,

I'm wondering if anybody knows if there's a .ipa file available for XBMC so I can install it with a program like PP25, because I don't want to jailbreak my iPad. Does anybody know if it's available or doesn't it exist for a non-appstore app?

Artist information failure

Hi,

I am having some problems to get artist information. Almost all my albums got the same artist info and art.Tried to change scrapper and make a "query info for all artists" but got the same result. When I make a refresh, the query seems to complete normally but the artwork and information keeps wrong.
Please find the logs and a screenshot.

This is happening since I bought another disk drive (different than OS and XBMC installation one) and started adding music on it...

Random fanart on Home screen

Hello!

Prior to XBMC 12 (Frodo) I was using that code to show random fanart stored in userdata folder for random fanart on Home screen :

Now, with Frodo, it seems that all fanart are stored elsewhere. Is there an alternative command I could use so that random fanart are shown on the Home screen?

or does the use of Artwork organizer by the end-user is the only solution?

Hi all,

Ok, so now im building my 2nd HTPC with the knowledge from my first and all the advise from Bluray, Dougie, Eskro and so on, i have come up with the following build.

Please feel free to critique and recommend.

Case - Inwin BP655 Mini ITX Case with 200W PSU
Motherboard - Gigabyte Z77N-WIFI
CPU - Intel Pentium G2020 Dual Core CPU
RAM - Crucial 4GB DDR 3 (Already bought)
Graphics Card - Nvidia GT520 (Already got for HD, Bluray playback and Bitstreaming)
Bluray drive - Liteon 4x Internal Bluray Drive Player

Storage - I am kinda stuck because I want an SSD but not sure how i would connect it. I only need a small one for the OS as will content on NAS and a second HDD for content that needs to be on HTPC.

I would love to hear feedback and also know if the more experienced builders think that this will handle all 1080P, FULL BLURAY ISO, FULL 3D content.

want to change TV show from one drive to another

This is probably a easy thing to do but driving me nuts.
1 I have tv shows source coming from NAS drive
2 having issues with NAS drive and want to now use local drive for my tv show and movies sources
3 how do I delete old tv show (and later movie) source for XBMC and then add new source for them from local drive
The more I read the more I get confused. If I go to (what I think is the root) of the tv shows and hit C for context menu I just see update library option.
so to wrap it up I want to change the pointer of my sources from the Nas drive to local drive.

Hello All

Just signed up as I'm hoping that XBMC is the solution I'm looking for. I really hope it is after the amazing reviews I've been reading about it.

Soooo....

Currently, I have all my music on my Ready NAS Duo box and I want to be able to play this music from multiple devices. I can see that XBMC can handle this perfectly ok, but I do have a couple of questions. I had thought that maybe pc's and tablets will be able to just play the music after XBMC is installed on each device. In the wiki, this comment "When your collection is scanned, XBMC stores all the tagging information (artist, album, year, genre, etc) in the database" leads me to believe that a database must exist somewhere. Could someone please explain to me where that database is held? Does it mean that I should have a pc as a main controller which will have the database on it and pointing to the NAS drive and then all my other devices communicate to that pc? Or, is the database held on the NAS drive meaning no controller type pc is needed? Also, when the scan is made, are the existing music files changed in any way? I only ask as they may wish to be played from elsewhere in their current format (xbox).

I hope all that makes sense and I would welcome any further info from this. If this is elsewhere in the wiki that I may have missed, then I apologise now but I am unable to find it.

Hi, I don't know if this is the right place to post this, but on xbmc website on the download section (Get XBMC link), the links for XBMCbuntu Intel AND nVidia are linking to the 12.0 version, not 12.2.

Home Menu buttons for add-ons

With a little bit of trial and error, I have been able to create some home menu buttons that initiate some add-ons rather than go through the process of having separate icons or labels.

If you look in most of the possible add-ons you have installed, they have a default.py. however in saying this, I have found that some work and some don't so it's a bit of trial and error

Anyone still using mySQL 5.1 with Frodo?

Hello,

So I am having a problem getting Frodo to work. Have been told I should upgrade my mySQL db to 5.5 from where it is now at 5.1. Before I go through all of the trouble of uninstalling 5.1 to reinstall 5.5, I would like to know if there are any others using Frodo with Revision 5.1 of mySQL on Windows 7? I installed mySQL a couple years ago when I first connected Dharma to a central db.

Test sound button

Just a random thought I had while setting up XBMC for a friend....

How about a "test sound" button in the system >> audio config?

Basically it would play a sound on each of the speakers notifying which one its outputting too.

iPad as Remote

Am brand new to XBMC and was recommended by a friend. Have setup XBMC on an old laptop running Win 7. Have configured the Win 7 box as host to best of my knowledge. It has Bonjour running on it and is appropriately mapped to my music folder. I have all the permissions setup as I've read they should be. That's the windows side. Oh it's the "Frodo" version of the software.

Now, my daughters ipad is how I want to remotely control this thing. I've downloaded the official remote app but no matter what cannot get it to connect to the "host". I've tried entering in the implicit settings and using the FIND XBMC button to no avail.

Am pretty much totally lost in the apple environment and obviously in the xbmc environment so would appreciate any kind hearted soul willing to give me a hand here.

Options for Play Next Video File

First of all I appreciate that this function is primarily included to play media comprising of multiple files more seamlessly and in sequence, but I don't use it for this purpose.

I find the ability to play next video file very useful when watching a tv series (plays the next episode), youtube videos (plays in a loop) and listening to music, but would like the option disable it for movies as I feel it has a negative effect and don't see the need to play the next movie.

Hello!

I´m new to xmbc and have a question.

I want to use xbmc on a standard pc with an terratec cinergy s2 hd pci tuner installed.

I´d like to use this pc only for live-tv, NOT for recording purposes.

I managed to get the live tv working using nextpvr.

In addition to this live-tv I´d like to use the vu+ plugin to watch the recordings saved on my vu+duo box.

In simple words:
- use the nextpvr frontend to watch live-tv
- use the vu+ plugin to watch recordings.

The switching between these two addons should happen automated...

Is there any way to get this configured?
