Angelscry, would it be possible to add an option to choose Advanced Launcher:
Either automatically pause the music or film and then automatically resume them after
Either stop the movie or music as is the case now.

Yes it could be possible. I just have to found the way to pause and resume the medias. Addes to my todo list.

No, ALA does not rename the file. If I select a file "1254.png" located on my Desktop to a rom named "Mario" I'd like ALA to make a duplicate of (or just move) the image from my desktop and rename it to "Mario.png" and then place it in the thumbs directory.

As you say, I could do this myself, but when I'm renaming 1000+ files, it would be far easier for ALA to do this.

The functionality of "local image" doesn't change. I still want to be able to select a file from anywhere and have ALA read it. The additional benefit is storage in a single location. I'm not a python guy, but it seems shutil(src, dst) is exactly what you'd use. http://docs.python.org/library/shutil.html

This new version of Advanced launcher bring a bug fixing for stand alone launchers under Linux and MacOSX systems. This version also add a new option into the add-on settings to control the action on a playing media (music of video) when an application is started using Advanced Launcher. You can now let play the media, stop it, or put it in pause (then resume it when exiting the launched application).

Ok, I clearly understand now. I will try to see how I will simply add this new feature without removing the actual "Select Local Image option". Maybe add a kind of "Import Local Image"... Huh

I say keep the "Select Local Image" option and if you want, you can add a toggle in the addon settings for "Copy local images to local image directory". This way people can just turn it on or off for their personal needs.

I will first let the both options available at the same time, and depending or the users feedback, I will see if I let them like this or modify them. BTW, I have already add and tested this feature for items thumbs and fanart. Just need to also add it for launchers.... Wink

first id like to say... awesome program. very well done.

thank you.

now my problem is this... i can create a launcher and populate it with roms no problem. now i want to have nice thumbs and fanart with each, so i set it to scrape automatically from the internet... doesnt work. it will search and display found matches fine but when it goes to import i get a python code error.

id show the error but im not sure how to get to the log in xbmc

im using latest launcher/xbmc on win 7

is this program able to automatically generate the thumbs/fanart with just the rom titles and im doing something wrong? Sad

Yes this program is normally able to get thumbs/fanarts images with the rom title and the game platform...

I will need to look at your launchers.xml file (which contain the launchers and roms configuration) and your xbmc.log file (which contain the error message). Under windows 7 those file can be found here :

Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/XBMC/xbmc.log
Users/USERNAME/AppData/Roaming/XBMC/userdata/addon_data/plugin.program.advanced.launcher/launchers.xml

Open those 2 files with a text editor (like notepad) and copy/paste the content into 2 pastebin website pages and report here the 2 generated URLs. So I will be able to help you.

alright heres my log. i opened xbmc fresh and attempted to change actraisers thumb by pulling it from gamefaqs.
