After you have created a launcher you have to use the "Add-Items" option to automatically or manually add the roms to the launcher. Ok, thanks!!! Are there a tutorial on this one any place, you see i have truble geting the games to start after adding "items" games, put in zip|nes for NES games and everything looks to be good, also tryed to change name on the game in emulator game folder like ("Aladdin II (U)" to just "Aladdin II") but no luck... I feel like a real noooob right now - bakito - 2011-09-22 thanks for your answer! I'll back up my launcher.xml! cheers! - Angelscry - 2011-09-22 ivan7711 Wrote:Ok, thanks!!!No, there is no video tutorial to explain each option and menu of Advanced Launcher, but there is a user guide : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3 Basically, if you want to manually rename an item, go into Item context Menu, select "Edit Item" option, then select "Modify Datas/Infos" option and finally select the "Modify Title" option. http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=7#p7 More specifically, if you want to automatically remove version information into a title (like renaming "Aladdin II (U)" to "Aladdin II"), before adding items, go to "Add-on Settings" menu, then select "Data & Infos" sub menu, then check the "Clean Items Titles" option. It will automatically do the job. http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=5#p5 - ivan7711 - 2011-09-22 Angelscry Wrote:No, there is no video tutorial to explain each option and menu of Advanced Launcher, but there is a user guide : http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3 Maaan...u are the best, thank you so much, now everything works smooth. And i got the game in full screen too, just checked the "switch to fullscreen on ROM load" this in VirtuaNES_Option_Emulator....but i am shure u know this!!! BIG THANKS to YOU!!! - Invincer - 2011-09-23 I wanted to create a 2nd Adv Launcher for comics. I tried following the guide on http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=332#p332 . I did exactly as the guide says and the youtube video, but all I get is a script error everytime I try to run the 2nd launcher Has anything changed about how to do this using v1.5.7? In the log I get strange stuff like ... Code: 18:39:47 T:6928 ERROR: Error Type: <type 'exceptions.SyntaxError'> - Angelscry - 2011-09-23 Invincer Wrote:I wanted to create a 2nd Adv Launcher for comics. Simply editing them with notepad or wordpad will generate an error, because they save text into ANSI format by default. You can try to edit them using PSpad (as into the video). Read all the post of this page : http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?p=888456#post888456 - Invincer - 2011-09-23 Tried updating the version of pspad, made sure to open the files in UTF-8 and saved that way. Redownloaded the plugin fresh and tried different names of folder and references, doesn't matter, I still get the error. I have followed the steps exactly but nothing seems to work.. This is baffling - Angelscry - 2011-09-23 Invincer Wrote:Tried updating the version of pspad, made sure to open the files in UTF-8 and saved that way. I have followed the steps exactly but nothing seems to work..Really strange.... Seems that your error is not related to the creation of a new launcher. Error line : Code: 18:39:47 T:6928 ERROR: Error Contents: ("Non-ASCII character '\\xe2' in file C:\\Users\\Invincer\\AppData\\Roaming\\XBMC\\addons\\plugin.program.advanced.launcher.2\\resources\\lib\\launcher_plugin.py on line 212, but no encoding declared; see http://www.python.org/peps/pep-0263.html for details", ('C:\\Users\\Invincer\\AppData\\Roaming\\XBMC\\addons\\plugin.program.advanced.launcher.2\\resources\\lib\\launcher_plugin.py', 212, 0, None))
- Invincer - 2011-09-23 Only the copy gives an error, the original Adv Launcher works fine (both at 1.5.7). The second one was a straight download from your link and saved to the addon folder as .2 (also tried with endings of .3 and .4). None of these copies work even though i have followed the appropriate steps each time. And have no idea why it is referring to line 212 which has nothing to do with anything I have edited. ? Weird... I am using the last compiled version by Margo for the XBMC with PVR (dated 8-17-2011) - Angelscry - 2011-09-23 Invincer Wrote:I am using the last compiled version by Margo for the XBMC with PVR (dated 8-17-2011)Mmmm... could be linked to the XBMC version (but it would be very surprising). Maybe tips for using duplicated add-ons is not working anymore with latest pre-eden versions. I have to check this during the week-end. Also, it could be linked to your specific build (this is this one : http://www.scintilla.utwente.nl/~marcelg/xbmc/prebuild.html, right ?) that not allows to use duplicates add-on. Have you try to do this with an official release of XBMC? - Invincer - 2011-09-23 Yep, that's the Margo version (unfortunately it is not updated more frequently). Have not tried with any other version as i only have the one with PVR support. - Aetius - 2011-09-24 Bit of a newbie question, but I was unable to find an answer via search. I set up a SNES launcher, and imported my games, scraping from TheGamesDB. A game like for instance Super Mario World imported the wrong game (importing Super Mario All Stars + Super Mario World). I went to the context menu, and selected edit item. I was able to edit the info and select the right game, but when I went to change the fan art and thumbs, the only options it was giving me were for SMAS+SMW. When correcting a scraping error like that, how do I get the fanart and thumbs for the corrected title? Thanks in advance. - Angelscry - 2011-09-24 Aetius Wrote:Bit of a newbie question, but I was unable to find an answer via search. Will not be corrected because it is a problem related to the search engine of the TheGamesDB website. I have reported this problem here : http://forums.thegamesdb.net/showthread.php?tid=748.... two months ago yet. In the reported example, if you make a search for the "Quake" game on PC platform, the first returned game is "Enemy Territory: Quake Wars" and not "Quake". This problem occurs for game data and also for images. That exactly the same problem that happen in your case. When you enter the exact name of a game on TheGamesDB, the search engine did not return at first the game with the same name. - Angelscry - 2011-09-25 Invincer Wrote:Yep, that's the Margo version (unfortunately it is not updated more frequently). Have not tried with any other version as i only have the one with PVR support.I have just tested with last XBMC Pre-Eden version (2011/09/25) and with last XBMC Pre-Eden Margo version (2011/09/20) and the Advanced Launcher duplication trick is working. So the problem is somewhere else. Here is a copy of the duplicate Advanced Launcher add-on on my system (http://www.mediafire.com/?095ll3uir2anvz9). Download it. Extract it. And copy the extracted folder into your XBMC/addons directory. And tell me if it is working or not on your system. - Invincer - 2011-09-25 The download works! Thanks a million!! Strangely enough when I look at your 2 files in PSPad the 2 lines are identical to what I tried, and both mine and yours open UTF-8; but for whatever reason mine errors out. No rhyme or reason to it that I can figure... either way thanks a million!!! |
