Or did he come here to complain! Im willing to help those who provided logs and offer constructive suggestions... anything else is nothing more then a waste of time. It Does little to remedy any problems. You should only post if you are looking for a solution, not complaining! My track record on this topic speaks for itself. Provide a log, gets instant fix. Articulate a problem or a feature request, it gets added. Dont post a log or complain, be ignored! Yes and I have no problem setting up my library or getting some plugins to work but adding some live tv channels have been giving me trouble. Understanding how to get the XMLTV creating your own for the live channel logos etc. Maybe because im using android based fire tv is the reason im having hard time getting these things. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - rsummers618 - 2015-02-11 Hi Luna, First off, thanks for the great addon. I’m mostly finished with my configuration and its working great (albeit a bit complicated and unstable to setup) I’ve got 2 questions that I’ve searched for and haven’t found any relevant information on. 1: My biggest annoyance with pseudoTV right now is the menu. When I am going up and down in channels on the menu (or even left and right through time) it takes about 0.5 – 1 second to show the next channel and scroll down the menu. Normally this isn’t a problem at all, although a faster response would be great I understand the limitations of the program. However the problem occurs when using my remote control or TV, I press down, and subconsciously hold down the down arrow because of the delayed reaction time. This as a result will cause the remote to go into repeated keypress mode and press down say 10 times per second as it should. Unfortunately it seems PsuedoTV doesn’t handle this well at atll, because now after 3 seconds of holding the remote arrow XBMC has registered 30 keypresses. And as I said earlier each scroll down can take 0.5-1 second, this can result in 30 seconds of just watching the menu scroll while all input is ignored. The effect is even worse if I intentionally hold down the scroll button to go through say 30 channels or so, and hold it for 10 seconds or so, sometimes I have to sit for about 2 minutes just for the guide to stop scrolling from the repeated keypresses. So the question is, Is there a way to have pseudotv check for stale keypresses? Ie. Skip keypresses that were sent longer than 5 seconds ago? Or is this native to KODI kode and I should take it up with those developers? Is my only fix perhaps to have a faster system (my system isn’t slow by any means) or maybe there is a faster way to index the menu? *edit* I would like to note i don't consider turning off repeated keypresses on my remote to be a good solution. Its a feature that is FANTASTIC when scrolling through a library of 500+ movies etc. 2: There is no elegant way to integrate live events from addons currently. Perhaps this is a feature request, but is anyone aware of a way to dynamically create channels with an individual stream, perhaps using superfavorites or smart playlists. Here is the idea I have in mind but I’m not sure how to implement it with the current tools and channeltypes we have. If I have an addon that streams live sports or events( ie NBCSports, ESPN3, NHL Gamecenter) I can currently add the addon to pseudotv live and it will detect the top stream and create the channel. However I would like to reserve say 10 channels for ESPN3 and allow each channel to be its own ESPN stream, (or just play a dummy video/skip if there are not enough streams) Allow me to illustrate what I am saying. Current folder layout of NBCSports app: Live Events/Upcoming -Formula 1 Race (live) -USA Gymnastics (live) -Motocross (live) - EPL Soccer (live) Currently PsuedoTV would handle this by doing the following Channel 1: Plays Formula 1 for 3 hours the USA Gymnastics for 3 hours etc… The problem is that by the time the EPG shows the events they are no longer being aired. My solution would be say reserve 5 channels Channel 1: Formula 1 Channel 2: Gymnastics Channel3 :Motocross Channel4: EPL Soccer Channel 5: No more content, can skip And perhaps refresh the events that are live and the channels ever hour so all the current events are shown. I don’t see why this can’t be implemented in a similar way to HDHOMERUN channels, having each stream be its own channel, and if the stream dies it just gets skipped. (the XMLTV would be generated from the app) Is this possible in our current configuration? If not this would be an awesome feature (I wouldn’t mind helping to develop it if needed) RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - boyboy - 2015-02-11 (2015-02-11, 00:21)Lunatixz Wrote:(2015-02-11, 00:03)BugRaider84 Wrote:You my friend are missing the point to brys post...(2015-02-10, 23:29)bry- Wrote: Reading compression nor writing seem to be your strong suits. Help the community help you. Actually, I have post a log and express my problem. I was referred to the beginning of the thread. The point is all of us or not on the same level computer wise or program wise im a basic computer user so all these different terms and codes is a bit confusing. I actaully said this was a good program just a little difficult to navigate if your not familar with it but in no way was I trying to disrespect the addon or creator. Alright I might have missed the point a little, still you have to admit that the wiki on the main page is not up to date and incomplete and therefor it's not that easy to work with it (I don't want to hassle you though) But I did articulate a feature request and didn't get an answer, again it might not be important to you or for the progress of your work but now that I got your attention and to let this post be not a total waste of your time I'm curious (2015-02-10, 13:21)BugRaider84 Wrote: I've got a question regarding BCT's. I've got a lot of channels only for tv shows, only for movies and mixed channels and I would like an option to to enable / disable commercials and/or trailers for some of them. Hope we're good?! There are so many reason why your setup could be slow, But you aren't the first to ask, so you will need to backtrack through the forum, and read my FAQ to help narrow down your problem. I can say that if you are running a custom skin, or running on a low power device make sure to use my skins and to set the OS PTVL setting to the proper device. PTVL has a "Lowpower" mode that reduces features to enhance performance. (2015-02-11, 00:29)rsummers618 Wrote: 2: "Dynamically Create a list" isn't possible, This isn't how PTVL works... So I suggest you play and learn, this plugin does almost all of what you want and are asking... and before you can reply asking how? All I can tell you is I can't induvalily help everyone here... which I think is a major issue for some of you who for some reason expect one on one help, Not speaking to you just generalizing. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Marshall - 2015-02-11 My reaction when I tested out the new search feature in 0.5.8d If you want it bad enough you better get reading. If you're lazy or illiterate try searching for help on YouTube. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - TheGame1986 - 2015-02-11 Luna, hope you don't mind a couple of suggestions... Firstly, I like that we can access 'On Demand' style content via our libraries. Would it be at all possible, though, for us to either switch that out with a plugin of our choice, or to have multiple 'On Demand' items in the menu? For example, in the UK I could either have BBC iPlayer replace my Library, or have BBC iPlayer sit underneath 'On Demand'. In the US that could be USTV VOD (just examples). Secondly, when watching a channel and bringing the info overlay up, it would be nice if we could use the up and down keys to see what is on the other channels without changing the channel itself, then pressing the enter key if we want to switch to a channel we find. This is kind of like how it works on UK set top boxes (although I've no idea how it works for you in the States). Just a couple of small suggestions that aren't really that important at all RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - bigsteel99 - 2015-02-11 (2015-02-11, 00:21)Lunatixz Wrote:luna i'm still having issues with the in app hanging at 90%. I've provided so much information, Three full posts, a detailed changelog, twitter posts!! this isn't for me... it's for you! So when I get asked questions that have been answered, covered in posts and tweeted it's unsettling... Then top it off with the countless users who do not post logs (which is the only way things get fixed!)... it can drive you crazy! If it's not enough that spend my free time adding features and coding, i'm expected to provide each of you one-on-one help, and to write a bible sized guide on how to use this... do you think thats fair? Or do you think the fair thing to do is learn on your own, and when u truly are stumped, and exhausted all possible avenues to enlightenment, then you ask for help. Help including details, logs... something more constructive than "I give up, going to use another plugin" honestly what's the point of a post like that? What do you mean by smoother than silk? I would agree PTVL runs great the majority of the time, but i can't deny there is slight delay when scrolling up and down the guide. this being a guide with no images, default PTVL skin only 10 items per channel and only 20 channels to test. If i hold down my remote it just cant scroll through the list in real time fast enough. You can scroll through an entire 100+ channels within 10 seconds without delay? I suppose I can investigate sources of delay, but the rest of KODI scrolls through menus fine and i have no more features to turn off. I don't doubt it could just be my system is slow i'm on a 5 year old Core2Quad with 8 GB ram, but this should be plenty fast for parsing and presenting graphical xml data. I don't exactly have a benchmark to compare to of videos of people zipping through the menus of PTVL. PTVL creates channels only when you startup, or at given intervals when you have settop mode enable. I'm not asking for individual help. My account may be new but i've been running XBMC for a bit over 2 years and PTVL for the better part of a year. I'm asking about a feature i've never seen discussed, and yes i've searched and researched and even looked at the code. (Which By the way isn't made easier when 90% of the hits i get on searches related to problems I have had lead the the answer "use the search feature" lol) Believe me I've done my due diligence, Perhaps Dynamically creating a list isn't the correct phrase as i don't want the channels to be different every time PTVL opens, just their content which will be updated individually every hour based on what the addon has available. But I don't see how this is silly.. I just want a few channels reserved to each play an item in a folder that may or may not exist, that I don't know what the file is called. The dynamic part comes in as you said as i need background updating to update the channel every 2 hours or so, Yes i know that is possible. In my experience with PTVL most of the channel types work by pointing to a direcotry or playlist of files, and creating a channel by merging the files together. I know of no way to do the opposite, and make a channel for each and every individual file in a directory. I cannot simply make a channel for each of the items that occurring live at that time, because the next live event will not have the same stream URL, so as soon as that event has completed the channel is broken, I need the background updater to keep up to date with the live events that the addon has available and populate them 1 to 1 to the EPG. I don't need dynamic channel allocation as I can just have channels reserved for this purpose. I mean feel free get angry with me but I haven't found anything related to asking for this on either here or HUB forums or any documentation. |
