Providing roms and games with the addon would amount to piracy If you want to add games to it, you're on your own for getting them. I find it works great with steam! - Jetster - 2012-02-22 Ryoga79 Wrote:Jetster, Thanks, I thought so just though I would ask - Angelscry - 2012-02-22 Jetster Wrote:Hi,Advanced Launcher is only a program addon to start applications. It do not directly provide any applications, emulators, roms, games, comics, etc... You need to install them by yourself. - Angelscry - 2012-02-22 Ryoga79 Wrote:A quick bug report - I deleted my settings.xml, installed 1.7.9, and tried to scrape my MAME collection from scratch (i deleted the existing known games, and re-scanned with the existing launcher) using the new ArcadeHITS scraper. I set it to automatic, replace existing files for data/thumbs/fanart, but the scraper errors out after scanning the first rom, saying "index out of range". I've included my logfile at this link:Thank you Ryoga79... The ArcadeHits scraper is new (added in version 1.7.9), so it is possible that is still have some bugs in certain cases. By quickly take a look at the erro log, it seems that this bud occurs when the selected game do not have any description. I will try to fix it. If it is possible, could you please give me the rom name with which the message error occurs (it will really help me to plot the bug source). Thank you. - Ryoga79 - 2012-02-22 Angelscry Wrote:Thank you Ryoga79... The ArcadeHits scraper is new (added in version 1.7.9), so it is possible that is still have some bugs in certain cases. Wife's on the teevee/HTPC right now, so i'll PM it to you as soon as she's off. - Angelscry - 2012-02-22 Ryoga79 Wrote:Will do. Version 1.7.10 - Angelscry - 2012-02-22 Version 1.7.10 : This version of Advanced Launcher is just a small bug fix version. Changelog :

I know better than to bug her when she's watching her Downton Abbey Thanks for the quick turnaround...i'll test it ASAP! - Ryoga79 - 2012-02-22 I can confirm that the fix you pushed worked. Or, at the very least, it's gotten farther than two roms in, so it's already about 10 times as far as it got before - Bond13579 - 2012-02-22 Hey everyone! I've wasted so much time in setting up an emulator to be launched from xbmc and haven't been successful yet. I'm using MQ3 with Advance Launcher. I decided to try BSNES and it works really well when I launch from Windows. When I launch the game from within XBMC, 2 things go wrong: 1) XBMC stays full screen and I need to alt tab to get to the emulator (which is full screen at least). 2) My FPS in the emulator hits around 20fps making it unusable. This only happens when XBMC is running at the same time. If XBMC is not running I hit about 60fps. I read the requirements and I'm way above them. If you have any solutions to the above please share as I don't have time to read through a couple hundred pages in this forum. I would love to hear from someone that's been successful in setting up advance launcher with an emulator launching games from within XBMC (complete end to end solution). Thanks in advance! - Angelscry - 2012-02-22 Bond13579 Wrote:Hey everyone! I've wasted so much time in setting up an emulator to be launched from xbmc and haven't been successful yet.1) For this problem I guess it is related to the fact that to fully use Advanced Launcher under Windows operating system, you will need to activate the "Use a fullscreen window rather than true fullscreen" option that is present into XBMC system settings. Check if this option is activated under XBMC (http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3). 2) Your system may be above the requirements to use XBMC or BSNES, but may be below (or incompatible) to use both at the same time. One thing you can try is to solve this problem is to use a small script that will suspend or close XBMC just before starting BSNES. Then, when BSNES will be closed to the script will restore or restart XBMC. You will found some example of such script here :
- Bond13579 - 2012-02-22 Thanks for the quick reply. 1) I definitely want to stick with XBMC true fullscreen. Now, if there is a way to switch from true fullscreen to fullscreen window just to properly launch the emulator, and then switch back once the emulator closes. I think it's the backslash that switches fullscreen modes. Maybe I can automatically trigger that keystroke when launching bsnes. 2) I'll definitely give the suspend script a try. I wonder if I use this script if I still need to have XBMC in fullscreen window mode or if I can leave it at true fullscreen. - Angelscry - 2012-02-22 Bond13579 Wrote:1) I definitely want to stick with XBMC true fullscreen. I think it's the backslash that switches fullscreen modes. Maybe I can automatically trigger that keystroke when launching bsnes. There is already an option for this into Advanced Launcher, for each launcher, named "Toogle XBMC Fullscreen" to switch between "true fullscreen" and "fullscreen window". This option is into the launcher advanced options and is normally activated by default for each newly launcher. Check and change the state of this option for your BSNES launcher. It could have a positive effect in your case. This option have the same effect than using the backslash key. Bond13579 Wrote:2) I'll definitely give the suspend script a try. It was always checked by default... but I don't noticed it doing anything. - Angelscry - 2012-02-22 Bond13579 Wrote:hmmmmIf it still not working, then you can try to use a script that will force XBMC to minimize before starting your application when that will maximize XBMC when the application will be closed (http://www.gwenael.org/forum/viewtopic.php?id=199) : Code: nircmd win min process XBMC.exe |
