Sorry, but I'm really surprised how lazy some users seem to be, because with some research it is really easy find the command line options - each emulator has it's documentation, you just have to read it.

There is already a wiki page for the configuration of Advanced Launcher to run emulators : http://www.gwenael.org/xbmc/index.php?title=Main_Page (the link is on the first post of this thread). I have also planned to add a tutorial for the installtion and use of the Advanced Launcher. This page will be probably hosted on the google code page.

Excuse my bad english writing (oui, les français ne sont pas doués pour les langues Smile )

I'm using your program with XBMC on my PC HC (win 7) and the skin AEON MQ2

I just want to have something like this Image or this Image




but the most I had is that Smile : LIST : Image



or that : WALL Image



all fanart and thumbnails are ok, and infos are too, but I can't have the game summary. The thumbnails aren't working with the WALL view.

In fact I just have 3 sort of view : WALL, LIST and SHOWCASE

I've searched for hours to configure it but I gave up. Is the AEO MQ2 skin not compliant with your programm ?

The solution I had is to put a steam shortcut on the main menu, but it's not so cool as your launcher.

This issue belongs in the AeonMQ2 skin thread, go ask the creator
about skin specific problems.

Right now i believe GUI is last on the list for this launcher, more important
stuff is to help out ironing out bugs and testing/researching launcher's etc.

The AEO MQ2 skin is not supporting well the information and images display for programs add-ons. If is not a problem related to the Advanced Launcher. The Advanced Launcher do not contain any skin feature. The Advanced Launcher only sort and manage data and information program containers for XBMC. The display of those data and information are effectuated by the skin. Except for my Alaska Revisited Skin MOD I do not have any control on Skin display.

I've sorted the problem: The colon ( : ) character was not the problem, I have several other ROMs that have colons in them. The issue was the quotations ("). You'll need to escape the quotation marks (or simply remove them when you import the ROM).

Hi... thank you very much for the feedback. Effectively if some game title contain quotes it could create an error. I will try to fix this for the next version. Again thank you.

I have version 0.9.1 of this launcher, most things works pretty well except for one thing, it's kinda hard to explain, especially cause i'm french.

I add new games manually then I just want to change the Fanart picture, it hang when trying to display the explorer where you can choose the one you want.

I have to click on the right button of my mouse to return to the xbmc home page..... then return to the launcher..... now it appears.

It's always doing that problem every time I add a new game...... and when I exit xbmc, I have to press ctrl+alt+delete because xbmc frozen when quitting.

Love the Launcher!!

the only problem im having is getting the Xbox 360 controller to stop controlling xbmc when an emulator is launched. I can still hear it fiddling around in the background. Sometimes it interferes with the launcher working properly.

It is not really hanging, but it takes time for the Advanced Launcher to search the picture on Internet, download the thumbnails, cache them on your hard drive and finally generate the list. You just have to be a little more patient.

It is because you are not letting the time to the Advanced launcher to display the thumbnails list. So the list appear after you decide to quit, and so then it generate some errors... and you encounter XBMC to quit. I will try to see if I can improve this. Thank you.

Hi,

today I tryed to start ultrastardx (ubuntu deb) within xbmc (ubuntu 10.10) and your nice launcher addon.. but I had no audio "ingame". Starting the game from the console, there are no problem. Now the questions.. is this a xbmc/lauchner addon or ustardx-bug??

First of all, great plugin! This is something a lot of people wanted for ages. (including me)
It's just not elegant to use XBMC as main media center and then have several frontends extra for games.

I have a few questions/feature requests:

Will the plugin support more image/video information in the near future? (like screen AND title shot, real fanarts, videosnaps, cartridge, marquees, control panels,...) A lot of people use the Emumovies service for example (easy management/download of snapshots, packshots etc.). These infrmations are kind of normal in nowadas emulator frontends.

Would it be possible to add some kind of fading to black in the front? So you don't see the windows stuff flashing around with some emulators (GameEx does this fade for example).
