RE: [RELEASE] NHL Gamecenter Addon - SparkGFX - 2014-10-09

Gotcha, but nothing you can control or fix right? I just figured since you have the NBCSN Live add-on working flawless as I can see on my end, that you could possibly take a stab at this add-on... Smile

Not at the moment. I'm trying to find a way, but this addon is far more advanced than mine.

RE: [RELEASE] NHL Gamecenter Addon - SparkGFX - 2014-10-09

Do you know if sideloading the actual NHL Gamecenter .apk to the FireTV will work? Because I guess I could always go that route lol

RE: [RELEASE] NHL Gamecenter Addon - eracknaphobia - 2014-10-09

I loaded it on my fire tv and it seemed to work. It's just very difficult to navigate with the amazon remote. I never did try a live game though.

RE: [RELEASE] NHL Gamecenter Addon - SparkGFX - 2014-10-09

I will test tonight with logitech keyboard seeing that I am wanting to watch the first game of the Penguins season. Hopefully it works until this aad-on can be managed, really wanting to get rid of the HTPC in the living room and replace it completely with the FireTV.

RE: [RELEASE] NHL Gamecenter Addon - Suicyc0 - 2014-10-09

I just discovered this plugin in the past week... but I'll jump in. I sideloaded the NHL app on a Fire TV last night as well (figured it would be better to test with the Hab's game rather than tonight's Pen's game Big Grin ) but discovered I had version 4.1007 rather than the 4.1008 that's on my phone & tablet.

I could get past the "please upgrade" message, but could never find the right key combination to switch away from the News screen. Nothing on the slide-out menu was accessible.. it just doesn't seem to allow you to tab through the buttons.

Earlier in the week, I did submit a request to the NHL site to provide support for the Fire TV. Not holding my breath for that.

Suicyc0 - I will try upgrading my app to the newest version as I did receive the same error message this morning before heading to work. I will try with my Logitech keyboard/mouse combo to see if that makes it easier to navigate through the app. If all else fails I will have to resort to my old HTPC to watch from the gamecenter live website...will keep you updated in the next couple of hours once I get off work.

I believe the add-on was getting it's info from this page: http://gamecenter.nhl.com/nhlgc/console.jsp under the archive section. If you login with your gamecenter account and view the link you'll see that the drop down has 2014-2015 selection, but displays no games. So unless they're just behind on updating the page, it's looking like this add-on is going to need a completely new way to access live games.

As long as the add-on has the same games available as the NHL Vault, it works as expected:

This is the page you're referring to right?

I ran http://nhl.com/vault/ through fiddler and got this:
Code:
<!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//IETF//DTD HTML 2.0//EN">
<html><head>
<title>301 Moved Permanently</title>
</head><body>
<h1>Moved Permanently</h1>
<p>The document has moved <a href="http://www.nhl.com/vault/">here</a>.</p>
</body></html>

Which then returned this:
Code:
<html>

<head>
    <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    <meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;URL=https://gamecenter.nhl.com/nhlgc/secure/registerform?vault=true&cmpid=vlt:vnty" />
</head>

</html>

RE: [RELEASE] NHL Gamecenter Addon - Carb0 - 2014-10-09

I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Archived games still work and NHL Vault doesn't provide live games.

Edit:
And yes, I was referring to that page.

RE: [RELEASE] NHL Gamecenter Addon - Suicyc0 - 2014-10-09

Ahh... yes, the combo keyboard/mouse DOES work with the latest version on a Fire TV. Thanks for the idea SparkGFX! I'm looking at the launch page for the Pens/Ducks game tonight. The screen doesn't look like it's scaled properly (52" Sharp), but we'll see once the game starts.

If it helps, I can capture some traffic for launching a live game to see what both the mobile app and/or web site is doing.

RE: [RELEASE] NHL Gamecenter Addon - Carb0 - 2014-10-10

Do that but don't post it publicly here. Send me a PM. Also the gamecenter apps are probably more helpful than the mobile website.

RE: [RELEASE] NHL Gamecenter Addon - thermo - 2014-10-10

Just a quick side note - most may already be aware - but for those people in Canada having issues in the new NHL app where it asks you for a myRogers login - if you only have an NHL Gamecenter login you can't use those credentials there. Go to settings page and there are buttons for both Rogers Login and NHL Gamecenter login. Use the NHL one if you have already paid them and you should be good to go.

The rogers stuff is the free package (until December) for anyone with either rogers wireless, internet or TV.

I am hoping to get the XBMC plug in as well because the Android application stutters like crazy on my Pivos XS box.

(The app runs fine on my Android phone, Ipad)

RE: [RELEASE] NHL Gamecenter Addon - rocketr - 2014-10-10

The app doesn't work on the firetv because of no location services. Does anyone have a work around?

RE: [RELEASE] NHL Gamecenter Addon - Suicyc0 - 2014-10-10

The NHL app on the Fire TV was looking promising... until it wanted location services enabled. Unrooted, you can't turn 'em on Sad (I'm not sure iyou can enable them with a rooted FTV either)

It does work on a Kindle Fire HD, so an HDMI cable has me back in business for tonight. Carb0, I'll work on the captures later this evening.
