Metropolis 2.6.3 for Frodo released - jingai - 2013-01-29
Metropolis 2.6.3 has been released and should be available to everyone now.
The big change with this release is Frodo support. Additionally:
- Update Record Label and Studio media flags.
- Fix various minor issues for Frodo repo.
- Fix Recently Added Music Video labels on home screen.
- Reduce background fanart fade time from 400ms to 200ms.
- Fix disappearing Play button in Video Info dialog.
- Support for TMDb MPAA certification media flags.
- Allow Gallery_Square and Panel_Square in more places.
- More info in Seekbar for Music Videos.
- Make auto-scroll speed for textboxes adjustable.
- Minor cosmetic fixups.
- Allow ClearArt in Logo viewtype.
- Show Music Video thumbnail in OSD.
- Fallback images for HomeDeck items.
- Support for Skin Widgets service addon.
- Add option to prefer Landscape over Fanart.
- Support for Artwork Downloader 12.x (Frodo compatible).
- Fix text alignment issues in Frodo.
- Support for ListItem.Art(banner).
- Support for Advanced Media Filter.
- Replace Get Thumb and Get Fanart in Video Info Dialog with Choose Art.
- Tags submenu item in Movies.
- Option to hide addons not in user's native tongue.
- Updated language files.

Great ! It's my favorite skin too, especially with the Metrodark theme from Thewarm (http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=127144&pid=1244715#pid1244715). Any plan to add more customization in the future inside the skin options like possibility to change colors, change transparency in the menu/osd, adding blue-ray cases to the poster images , etc.. ?

No concrete plans, but no reason we couldn't add these things. I'm focusing on optimizations next, though.

Just installed Frodo today. When I try to install Metropolis I get "dependencies not met". Should I be getting from somewhere else instead of from within XBMC?

After backing up my .xbmc folder, I tried deleting it and running Frodo as afresh install. Seems XBMC was having trouble downloading the skin widgets add-on. When I checked it it was just hung at 0%. I went through this process several times. Finally it worked. Must have been network traffic or some such s**t. Once I was sure it was working I copied over the original .xbmc folder and all seems to be well.
BTW, this is a excellent skin. I think it is so cool to have up.

little bug.. when navigating to "addon browser" from the main screen the text is cut off you only see "addon brow" instead....

@ question. I like the skin. great...but a question.
If i am playing a movie and and seek bar you see the option subtitles, the title of the film. On some addons you see the movie cover.
At icefims you see the cover and at 1channel you see not. is there any setup for this.

This is up the addon to provide. Some do, some don't, as you've noticed.
