thx for the log. the addon indeed crashes when setting up a https session to last.fm.
i'm still clueless as to why... are you using a proxy perhaps?
other steps you could take to troubleshoot:
- first and foremost, update to the latest xbmc version (12.2)
- start with a fresh profile, no other addons installed but just last.fm
if that doesn't fix it get back to me and i'll dig deeper into it.

i did exactly what you told me to do ( update to the latest xbmc version (12.2) and starting with a fresh profile, no other addons installed but just last.fm .. and it still the same error!
i'm not using any proxy perhaps ..

ok, thanx so far.
mind trying this...
go to the last.fm addon settings and instead of your username/pass,
enter xxxxx as username and yyyyy as password.
the addon will of course fail to log in with these credentials,
but i'd like to know if it still crashes.
(maybe you've got some odd characters in your username or password that's causing it)

it's working! I have installed fresh windows on my computer and then BANG.. is working.. I have no idea what the problem was.. but nanyway it is now working so.

Hi,
how often does the add on scrobble to last.fm? I installed the addon, entered my credentials and played a few songs (in party mode) but on last.fm it still says I have not played any songs.
EDIT: Nevermind, it just started scrobbling.
EDIT2: This is a late edit, but is there a custom XBMC action that will quickly toggle scrobbling on/off? I would like to program a key on my remote to do that.

Many thanks for creating this addon, I've really missed Last.fm support in XBMC.
The feature I've missed the most is actually the "Overall top tags" menu, which I don't think is currently supported, but is easy enough to add in; there's a diff of the changes here. I hope you'll want to include this in your next version!

Is there a possibiltiy to use the love/ban scripts without the need for confirmation?
and also one problem:
If I use these scripts, I always get the errors 'artist not recognised' and then '"titelname" konnte nicht gesperrt werden.'

It seems that the 'confirm love/ban submissions' option is not correct translated to german. What it shows ('Love/Bans übermitteln') means only submit love/bans. It should rather be called 'Love/Bans übermittlung bestätigen".
The debug log to the other problem will i post tomorrow.

what about a custom action to enable/disable scrobbling so I can map a remote key for that? I often want to listen to spoken word files that I do not want scrobbled.

you mapped the love/ban commands to a key on your keyboard/remote.
that won't work. those commands can only be used in the skin xml.

i can't think of a way to do this.
the easiest way would be to temporary disable/enable the addon, but afaik xbmc doesn't provide a way to do this with a keymap action.
