RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - rsummers618 - 2015-02-11 (2015-02-11, 03:27)Dec64 Wrote: I think what you're trying to do is a little niche for just you so doubt it would become a feature but, been trying to think of a way around it. Yeah it may seem a bit Niche, but I imagine it is useful for any sports watchers on PTVL. Yeah that solution seems like it would work, However as you said i would have no epg data, which in a way is the purpose of PTVL Ideally There would be a channel type for Internet Stream Block or something, which blocked off X amount of channels. This block then takes in several directories as a parameter much like the pluginTV addons ie. Live sports on ESPN3, live NBC live TwitchTV Live, whatever.. Then the block enumerates each free channel with each item that currently exists in these directories and frees channels when no content exists. It would definitely require a rework on the background updating though. I suppose without actual support i could use psuedolibrary to make the streams, and then just make a python script that would manually enumerate the settings2 channel block at boot time for each show available. This is super hacky though, and would require restarting pseudotv every time you want to refresh the live events. It doesn't seem like it would be to difficult to implement in PTVL, considering all the features already exist, just not in this capacity. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - clousr - 2015-02-11 Hey found a small bug, and fixed it. When ptvl adds the recommended youtube channels, it doesn't do so correctly bc they are mutlichannel sources instead of single youtube channel sources. Anyways, the problem lies in the way the settings2.xml is being created for multichannel youtube sources, and to fix it, find your settings2.xml, open it up with a text editor and hit ctrl+H (find and replace), search for commas "," and replace it with a vertical bar "|". You now have 70ish more channels. I'm gonna describe my problem bc this took forever and maybe someone on google will hit this and it will help them. I downloaded ptvl and tried to add the youtube channels. I would only get one channel, which was the halloween collection, and all other times I would get Unable to populate channel. Hopefully that helps, sry about the spelling/grammar, I'm tired and lazy. RE: [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Reb313 - 2015-02-11 Hey guys. I am sorry, but I have a noob question. The way I use PTVL is that I close and open it a bunch as I often move between programs. Is there a way to keep it running in the background? Also, if not, what's the FASTEST most efficent method to get PTVL up and running without having a long building time? I set it to update weekly with background updating on and set my channel limit to 25. Anything else I can do? Does having it set to realtime make it take longer or no? Also, when setting the media limit to 25 will that effect any playlists or custom channels made with home videos? Thanks!!!! You use PTVL the same way I do and I use settop mode. It does stay on 24/7 but if you dont have PTVL pulled up it continues to run in the background. When you go back to PTVL it is already running and the channels are already updated depending on the update schedule you set. It doesnt have to rebuild the channels each time you go to it so it is much smoother using it this way. So with Settop box mode what are the drawbacks? Also, do you put background updating to on/minimum/ or off? And then set how often it updates to automatic? [FORK] "PseudoTV Live" w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - ADHDMedia - 2015-02-11 Never been an issue before, but for the past couple weeks I get errors whenever any commercials are activated in the settings. Did this stop working recently? Isn't it for people who run ONLY PTVL and leave it on 24/7 like a cable box? Keep in mind I am not an expert on this mode so others may have better input concerning its use. Do a search in this thread for it and you should find some good info. When you enable it there is an option to choose a global update time. Also you can control individual channel updates by setting a rule in the channel config tool. I believe when you enable settop box mode it overides the other channel update setting you are referring to. I think the background update setting determines how it updates when you first start PTVL. It will load the first channel and then create the others in the background if background updates is set to on. I dont think this affects how settop mode works. Drawbacks? I havent seen any. The one thing is it will continue to play whatever channel you were last on even if PTVL is not pulled up. At least that is how I understand it, so that may be considered a drawback. So if it is a internet stream it will continue to stream it or if it is local content it will continue to access that content. However this doesnt affect using other programs or viewing other videos from your library outside of PTVL. If any of this is incorrect, someone please correct me. Here is how it was explained to me... 1916323 (post) |
