RE: PseudoTV Live - w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Angry Ninja - 2015-08-12 I agree, Lite was a dream when it was released. I really wish it would be maintained and available. My house uses 4 Midnight MX2 G-Box's, and PsuedoTV lite works like a dream on those. The full PseudoTV works, but is "unstable"... I tend to get choppy playback at times, and other performance related issues. Lite works like a normal cable box with no issues whatsoever. Honestly you guys... should trust me... either that or learn python and review the code for yourself! Lite and Live weren't that different to begin with... now with v.0.6.6c + lite is completely obsolete. Not only is live faster than lite was, it also self tweaks its own settings to keep users running smooth.... anyone that says lite was faster is honestly using bias judgment. "choppy playback" PseudoTV Live doesn't handle playback, Kodi does... another bias, completely unsupported opinion. Better than lite in my opinion. The options to slim down are all there if you take advantage of them. And even if you wanted to disable some special setting... the only two settings that have any real impact on performance, if any impact at all... is the media limit, and the find missing data option. I swear if another person says lite is better, I'll just rename live to lite... and watch the on poor of posts tell me how much better and faster lite is... my god is just a name, the code speaks volumes if you need proof... RE: PseudoTV Live - w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Angry Ninja - 2015-08-12 Not sure about the code side of things, all I can report is the difference on the same machine running lite and 6.6c. Regardless of what handles playback (making it choppy), the fact is 6.6c plays back choppy on my MX2 G-Box's, and Lite does not. In 6.6c, I have all fancy options turned off. Both tests done from a freshly rebooted box. 6.6c = Choppy Playback, stalls in transitioning screens/channels/EPG/exiting the program. Lite = No issues at all Maybe 6.6c uses more RAM or resources or something, but the fact remains that the end result is the same. Really, the code shouldn't matter to the end user... just whether or not the program runs smoothly. I'm an iOS developer, and I know sometimes it's easy to tell people they are wrong, because we know how the code functions, but seriously, I'm just comparing 2 scripts, one that works great and one that doesn't. It might be my hardware, but if so, that shows that one is using more system resources or something. Not sure how that is Bias. It's just an observation of how one runs versus the other. I have no attachment to either program, I just want one that runs smoothly on my devices. Currently, one does, and one does not. It is what it is. I'm not complaining, just pointing out my observations. I've even donated (still no code after 2 days... Lunatixz, have you gotten my emails?). I'm just glad that Lunatixz puts in the work that he does. If one version doesn't work for me, thats fine, especially if it works for everyone else. It's a free script, so anything is better than nothing, and I appreciate all of the work that has gone into the script(s). Whoa in no way was I saying lite was better, I just said that it works for me, I personally would rather have a more updated version that performs better and faster. So for my family members who don't care about that stuff I am leaving Lite installed w/ a shortcut link for them so they can enjoy the benefits of a home media server of our favorite shows and movies. Me personally I will continue to play with Live and try out streams and all the features. That is why I still went ahead and uploaded the files so you can maybe help me get it working, I only listed that one tidbit in there about it working in Lite because it may help you narrow down the problem. I appreciate everything you do, keep up the hard work, hopefully this will help you figure it out Thanks RE: PseudoTV Live - w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Angry Ninja - 2015-08-12 (2015-08-12, 21:53)RORO-RR Wrote:(2015-08-12, 21:17)Lunatixz Wrote:(2015-08-12, 21:14)jctennis Wrote: If you guys turn off the fancy settings it works great. Lite functions better on my devices (could be my hardware, other plugins, or who knows why... it just does), but I'm still playing with and tweaking 6.6c in hopes that I can make it run as smooth as Lite does, since I'd love the continued updates and support. I know that on paper, 6.6c is supposed to run just as smooth as lite, but on my devices, it simply doesn't. Happy to take a video of each if thats what it takes to prove it. But again, I'm not complaining at all. I love both of them, and happy to tweak away until it I get them dialed in to my hardware. RE: PseudoTV Live - w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Lunatixz - 2015-08-12 (2015-08-12, 21:46)Angry Ninja Wrote: Not sure about the code side of things, all I can report is the difference on the same machine running lite and 6.6c. Both tests done from a freshly rebooted box. I'm just going on record as saying code absolutely does matter... Reason being Lite wasn't that far removed from Live to begin with... it honestly shared a bulk of the same code (code that matters!). As far as ram goes, the current version of live is lighter and less taxing than the old lite version... So this is absolute a skewed opinion... jumping the gun since v.0.6.6c is only a few days old. RE: PseudoTV Live - w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Angry Ninja - 2015-08-12 Correct, it is jumping the gun a bit since it's only a few days old, but just out of the box, and after all tweaks I can turn off, it's just my observation. 5.9c was basically unrunnable on my devices, so it's definitely an improvement. If that's the case, where it shares the same code and uses less RAM, any ideas why one would be sluggish and one wouldn't? It's not a big deal, if I can't get 6.6c tweaked to run as smoothly as Lite, I'll just continue using Lite as long as I possibly can, since I'm not using any online channels... local network only. Plus I like that I can still use a custom skin on Lite. But again, still tweaking 6.6c in hopes of eventually using that as my primary. RE: PseudoTV Live - w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - Lunatixz - 2015-08-12 (2015-08-12, 22:21)Angry Ninja Wrote: Correct, it is jumping the gun a bit since it's only a few days old, but just out of the box, and after all tweaks I can turn off, it's just my observation. 5.9c was basically unrunnable on my devices, so it's definitely an improvement. There is a billion things that can be going on while you run PseudoTV Live, to list a few: I/O,Network or System congestion, background services, background plugins... to name a few out a billion possibilities. PseudoTV Live isn't embedded software on a dedicated device... Plus lets face it... for some reason a majority of Kodi users run on under powered devices that on their own struggle to support Kodi, let alone run Kodi and my plugin at the same time. RE: PseudoTV Live - w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - RORO-RR - 2015-08-13 So getting back on topic here, did my log file help at all? lol RE: PseudoTV Live - w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - RamboUnchained - 2015-08-13 I haven't had any performance issues with 0.6.6c minus channel sharing deleting my cache and settings2.xml. My EPG actually works faster than in previous versions and I have a 500 media limit on 91 channels. It works fine on my ATVs and Windows systems. I even underclocked my CPU to 1.7GHz and turned off 3 cores and hyperthreading on my test machine just to see if it was just a placebo effect. It's indeed faster and snappier than previous versions. RE: PseudoTV Live - w/ LiveTV, InternetTV and added Strm Support - gurdoman - 2015-08-13 Hi all, Since the update to d I've been getting kodi crashes using psegudo tv live. The setting is, Im watching one of my channels, suddenly a window appears saying Kodi stopped working. windows 8.1, intel NUC with i3 and 4 gb of RAM. Tomorrow ill try to post the log.
