XBMC 12.2 Horrible Playback compared to 11.0 - aconnell - 2013-08-25
I uninstalled 11.0 and did a clean install of 12.2... removed the profile directory... you name it... everything. I was using a centralized MySQL library, but wanted to simplify things so I just started clean. This install is on the exact same hardware as the 11.0 install was. Even did a brand new scan of my TV shows on my central NAS (all connected hardwired with CAT5e).
The playback is atrocious for 12.2... no audio, the the video playback is very very slow (like 10% speed). I'm using the HDMI out and checked my sound card settings... setting everything to Directsound per the wiki.
Surprising how slow the playback is... seems like there must be something I'm missing. Ideas?

Read the sticky http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=146911 . Your problem is definitely related to wrong xbmc audio settings.
