Note: Aeon Nox 4 is too heavy.
Thanks!

I'll have a look into that. I did like a lot of features in Aeon Nox 4 but way too heavy for an RPi. Just tried it quickly on my work PC (a fast Windows 7 PC so I can't judge it's RPi performance) and I like what I see, especially the large writing in file lists...(I do miss the info text in the OSD info page of Amber though)

Link is in my post above-click on "mod of refocus".

You have to install it by zip file if you are running OpenELEC. Also takes quite a long time to install...
Btw, I still think Amber is a better, faster skin - but it's nice to freshen things up with a new skin from time to timeBig Grin

+1 for reAlaska Dark in reFocus Light!

RE: Fastest / Nicest Skin - denz - 2014-03-29

I have just installed aeon nox 5 beta 3 and it runs perfectly and it is much quicker and smoother than amber. Thanks to the developer of the skin.

RE: Fastest / Nicest Skin - richiebrowns - 2014-03-29

Where can I download the nox 5 beta from?

(read the first post carefully - you need to install a number of other add-ons)

RE: Fastest / Nicest Skin - Lowdef - 2014-04-03

Im currently using Quartz and really liking it.

RE: Fastest / Nicest Skin - TaceN - 2017-03-14

Definitely going with xonfluence (mod of confluence).
Running it on a pi 3 with no issues.

I like Amber. Keep coming back to it. Krypton update is really nice. Love the double shelf feature

RE: Fastest / Nicest Skin - matt-the-bat - 2020-05-04

Raspberry Pi B rev 2 512MB
Only Estuary or Confluence are satisfactory, I have found so far.

Have you overclocked it yet?

Do I have to? Wont that decrease the life?

I have to say, if you're still using a Raspberry Pi 1 rev B, you're in for a treat if you upgrade to a Pi3 or a Pi4. So much faster!

Personally I would go with a Pi4 (I have!) even though the software is a work in progress. It's stable enough for daily use and then some!

I got a Pi4 for Christmas and I've done a lot with it. It's my NAS, it runs Kodi for one tv, it's my daily linux dev box, and it's my DNS pi-hole. The older Pi1 runs kodi on another TV, and is a colored light for each week day.

More or less, I posted for posterity.
