PVR extension features - freddyboy - 2014-04-24

Do I need to use specific PVR extension (WMC' Argus, EyeTV, etc ) to get full XBMC live TV features (time shift, recording access, guide, etc) ?

RE: PVR extension features - Jönke - 2014-04-24

Yes

RE: PVR extension features - freddyboy - 2014-04-25

Any difference in performance and function between them? Which PVR have the most supported function in XBMC ?

RE: PVR extension features - Jönke - 2014-04-25

Tvheadend and Vdr should be the fastest one when it comes to changing channel in xbmc.
Tvheadend also supports subtitles, dont know about Vdr but Mediaportal, Argus , Dreambox won't work with subtitles in xbmc.

@Jönke: what you mean is won't work with teletext subtitles.

RE: PVR extension features - freddyboy - 2014-04-28

Is there a web frontend to Tvheadend?

So someone could watch live TV away from home or on a tablet?

@freddyboy yes and yes, there's an Android app for streaming.

@Jönke there are other kinds of subtitles than telext and AFAIK they work in pretty much all backends.

Thanks Negge. What web frontend does Tvheadend use for live tv streaming over a browser ? Builtin ?

RE: PVR extension features - negge - 2014-05-05

@freddyboy: yeah it has an integrated web interface which is used for configuration. You can stream channels using their URL but there is no reliable built-in player at the moment.
