If it has downloaded the wrong art and/or info, though, rescraping appears to do nothing. (I certainly don't get the option to select the proper title.) is there any way to delete the set art/nfo for one specific game, leaving it empty, and then rescraping? Will just deleting the image/nfo file(s) currently set for it work, or will that just mess up RCB? I'm using the latest version downloaded for the latest version of Kodi (Isengard) on the Google Nexus Player.

Thanks for the help! I tried as you suggested, and it did allow me to re-import them and rescrape.

Unfortunately, even though I specifically selected "Interactive" to manually select matches when I had it reimport/rescrape those deleted ROMs, it's still not letting me manually select matches and it once again automatically pulls in the wrong boxart/game version again instead. (Things like using a mobile phone version screenshot as the thumbnail for Ms. Pac-Man for the NES, or thinking that Final Fantasy III for the NES is actually Final Fantasy I+II.) I know the correct game information is on the sites I'm scraping from, so is there any way to force manual selection when I rescrape? (It does allow me to manually select matches when I have a game with no info, where it couldn't automatically find something on the first scrape.) Or am I stuck setting up the NFO file/boxart myself for those games?
I'm downloading the covers one by one because automatic scrapper isn't work as expected.

I have no window manager installed and kodi installed as a service that calls xorg. This works just fine, my setup is very similar to the pre-made kodibuntu distro. I have no problems playing video or music.

I am having a problem with getting RCB to launch my emulators correctly. I have it setup and scraped games and when I try and play them, the emulator starts and flashes briefly but then exits and kodi resumes. I have tried all the settings in RCB and with commandline flags for windowed and fullscreen, also set resolution and it will not work.

Is there something that I am missing?

Attached is my kodi.log from when I click on a game

Yes, but what if you uncheck the option "Don't extract zip files" in RCB? It'll extract locally and run.

Hey everyone, sorry to be that guy but I'm having trouble running RCB on my Nexus Player through Kodi. Once i click on scrape game info online and then select my emulator, it only lets me pick from the repositories as the path to my roms. How do I fix this?

Was scraping yesterday, had the same problem. From the kodi.log file it looked like the archive.vg scraper doesn't work (no surprise, has needed rewriting ever since the new API came out) and neither did mobygames (that was the surprise; the parser fails on pulling up images). Ended up using thegamesdb, giantbomb (which is working againHuh) and MAWS which I didn't check for successful pulls but at least didn't slow down the scrape process.

I'd say we should hope for an update that would address the parser issues with the better resources, but the project still doesn't seem to have been exported from Google Code to Github so I'm not sure there's any intent to work on it... I'm half tempted to see if I can export it myself, just so it doesn't vanish when Google Code does.

Yeah, I saw the one-image fix. Didn't find it to be terribly useful, honestly; easier to use the working scrapers and more effective (who wants just one image?)

Or perhaps http://forum.kodi.tv/showthread.php?tid=70115&pid=2058258#pid2058258 -- probably the specific post I needed there. Same person! Don't know why that didn't come up in a Github search.

4 months since the last change -- time to git fork... I think I just acquired myself a weekend project.

RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - OverDhill - 2015-11-01

I am trying to get RCB to work with the Atari 7800 roms. I have Retroarch installed and they run from there. In RCB when I go to Add Rom Collection and choose Atari 7800 it just goes back to the main screen. I have other ROMs installed and scraped fine.

This is on an Android tablet.

Any ideas?

RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - UglyBob - 2015-11-06

Haven't read the whole (huge) thread, but I can't find any answer to my problems, so here goes:

1. I'm using kodi with ubuntu mate 14.04 (full desktop) and have configured RCB to launch retroarch in full screen mode. That works fine, but when I exit the emulator and come back to kodi, the screen fades to black and wont come back until I press a keyboard button. As I don't usually have a keyboard, it's really annoying (using phone app and arrow buttons in that doesn't show the screen again).

2. My other problem is when I enable joystick control in kodi, I can't steer to the right (with keyboard nor gamepad). It seems the driver steer left by itself. Even without any gamepad/receiver. Im using a MS wireless receiver with xbox 360 controllers and the xboxdrv driver.

RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - purdobol - 2015-11-09

Does anybody have up to date compiled pylzma libraries? I've managed to compile it on linux and it worked fine. On windows it's impossible. I just don't know how to do it. The ones provided in this release do not work... so no .7z support :/

EDIT: Ok I was using wrong... eh nevermind Tongue Got it compiled and .7z works like it should. If anybody got error with .7z files HERE are updated libraries.

Can answer #1 myself now: Even if I disabled the screensaver in ubuntu mate, it still pops up after running retroarch in fullscreen. After uninstalling the screensaver I don't see this problem any more.

#2 I still don't have any answer for, which I would really want to solve.

Is this still up to date? ... info says:

Implementing Game widgets on home screen.

RCB also supports being invoked to gather game data for home screen widgets. Atm only the most played roms are available. Other statistics are planned for future releases.

I would like to have widgets for all games on home.

Thanx

HELPPP...

Hey guys, i just installed kodi and trying using the RMC yesterday but it kept wigging out on me...

-i put roms unzipped (.nes ones) into the /sd folder on local (transfered them wirelessly with es file explorer)
-downloaded rmc, then picked nes, chose the folder where the roms are.. i imported every nes rom i had.. maybe too much...
-i picked different scrapping websites..
-it either freezes and turns black when its done and nothing happens or it goes through and nothing shows up... once the roms showed up... but unplayable.. maybe emulator was messed up..
-i made sure *.nes was the filemask
-im using nvidia shield.
-i added the rom folder as a source folder, not sure what that is.
- Maybe am i adding to many roms at once? maybe try just adding a few different ones that i like..

just having multiple issues and not able to play anything.

RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - frostyjaws - 2015-11-13

is bigbox/launch a replacement for RMC cause RMC is glitchy as hell.

RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - OverDhill - 2015-11-14

I just did this on two Android systems with no problems. I read somewhere to select a couple sources to scrape from. Watch this video as it will give you the ones to select. But first what NES emulator are you using? Best to go into the emulator directly and make sure the ROMs work and setup your controller before you try to setup Rom Collection Browser. I created a folder with the correct subfolders so it would place all the artwork there before hand as well.

RE: [RELEASE] Rom Collection Browser - Browse and launch emulator game ROMs - lollo78 - 2015-11-14

Hi, I just installed RCB on Openelec 6.0 (kodi 15.2) - Raspberry Pi 2.
When I try to scrape game, I have always this error: "Could not create artwork file".
I fixed it with
#xbmcgui.Dialog().ok(util.localize(32012), util.localize(32011)):
(found on: https://code.google.com/p/romcollectionbrowser/issues/detail?id=185)

The thegamesdb scraper needs a fix. Same for the MAME scraper.

Some dev/coder could be port the scraper from Advanced Launcher?
In AL thegamesdb and arcadehits scrapers works pretty good.

RCB seems superior, but a lot of the most important scraper doesn't work.
So, it's like a black man without is black mamba Big Grin

A little question: I don't understand if RCB is still developed and maintained from the author or if is a dead project like Advanced Launcher (but in AL scrapers still working...).
