#16
Testing your 4.0.2a with a proxy I use for BBC and ITV addons and getting the following error:

ERROR: GetProxyMethod : 'Exception getting proxy_method: invalid literal for int() with base 10: 'Proxy for HTTP''

error log from program run: http://pastebin.com/KYSk7AhT

Just checked m. site using web browser and proxy and plays the content

Post a full debug log please.

Also you don't need to use 4.0.2a unless you're seeing the location error in your logs.

I didi try 4.0.2a as I did see that error in original log, I checked proxy serve rlog and the addon was not attempting to connect.

Turn debug logging on (see first post) and try again.

Sorry I was not clear earlier: 4.0.2a is for users in the UK who are being incorrectly identified as being from outside UK. Unless you are normally connecting to the outside world through a proxy, I don't need you to run the experimental version of the plugin or run those other two scripts.

That said, 4.0.2 and 4.0.2a are nearly identical and whatever problem you are having you would probably have with 4.0.2 anyway and your feedback will be useful to fix the bug you found.

Release 4.0.3 see first post.

I had left out part a previous fix for the proxy settings. The proxy setting should at least be applied now, though you will have to change the proxy method, and back again.

Can you remember what you were trying to watch when you tried with 4.0.2a?

Hey Mossy, amazing work!

I'm extremely curious on how you were able to break the new encryption of the 4od streams? Unless it was an update to a particular library you use for the plugin?

Curiousness. Thanks!

Release 4.0.4, see first post.

@Piers turn debug logging on, see first post.

@skunkfu I didn't break the new encryption, they have different types of streams for different platforms, I found an old one (fairly low res) that is still running (for the time being).

* Install version 4.0.2a of the plugin from the experimental folder
* Run the plugin
* Bring up the context menu
* Select "Test Location"

As the debug log may contain your actual IP address edit it before posting (just remove the last two segments of the ip).

Update: I've added script.4oDtest.zip and 4oDtest.py to the experimental folder. Both of these do the same thing, which is download a 4oD web page that shows the location error. I want to see if there is a difference using the same python code in XBMC and outside of XBMC. The first is an XBMC script which can be installed as normal and run from the Programs menu. The second is python script that requires [url=https://www.python.org/download/releases/2.7.3]Python 2.7[/b] to be installed and can be run from the command line as follows:

Code:
python 4oDtest.py

It will produce a file called asset.html.

Both of these scripts should execute and finish in less than a second.

If someone who is experiencing the problem could run both of those scripts and post the debug log and asset.html that will help.

4.0.2a http://xbmclogs.com/show.php?id=169992

Is this correct? I'll do the next test next.
