davilla - thanks for the suggestions of how to manually run the update script, xbmc-8.10_update.sh
when does this item get created?
and do you have the location now?
my atv auto-updated to 2.3. i got everything installed again (AFP, ssh, usb, etc). then tried the update method as was originally described. at this point i searched for the above file but found nothing.
also at this time, my apple remote stopped working. well, just the up/down/play buttons so i couldnt use the main menu. i have done a factory restore and upgraded to 2.3, used the atvusb patchstick, restored all previous config, but still i am unable to upgrade to any newer xbmc version (final or beta2 - at this point i'd be happy with either!)

having restored my appletv from v1.0 right up to v2.3 again, i still have the same issue.
when clicking the update option, 0.6 launcher is listed. i get the black screen for a couple of seconds and then returns to the menu. however if i search for the suggested file, it is not on my system (yes, i used the exact same syntax)

randomice, i cannot chmod the script file, as i dont even seem to have it... when i select the update the launcher, i get the black screen and then it returns as davilla suggested it, but i get no files downloaded or anything.
can i redownload the latest mac version and do a manual install with that, seeing as i have ssh access to the appletv?
pleeeeeease help me - have been xbmc-less now since that <insert expletive here> v2.3 autoupdate!!!!

jingo_man see private message. Upload xbmc-8.10_update.sh & xbmc*.dmg to atv and manually install xbmc. Do not forget about chmod.
