bestbuy.com sells them and I think they ship internationally. eBay is another option.

I have bought VidOn AV200. It works so good. But it's for reservation with just $120 now. That's irritating. I have bought it for $239 three months ago.

The version of Apple TV that supports XBMC is Apple TV 2 and you can only output 720p video signal from it. Also - 99,9% of all the hardware is made in China anyways.

I think the best one must be STB with Nvidia Tegra K1

I have Ouya, Pivos xios, ATV1 with crystalbuntu and crystall HD card, ATV2, Raspbmc

Ouya is pretty fast but the picture is dark and whatever I do I cant fix the brightness and contrast on my tv to get a decent picture
pivos is good but the remote is so lagy
ATV2 is good but 720p
Raspbmc is good but no ir remote and no turn on/off with remote
so ... I'm still on my ATV1

I'm goin to get a transmart amlogic s802 quad core 2GHz.
any one has any experience with those round boxes ?
Proud xbmp/xbmc/kodi user since early days of 1st gen xbox

It looks like Amlogic S802 devices are a good choice now in $100 category.
But does anybody now when S812 will roll in?
Should I get and S802-based box now or wait until first S812 devices start shipping?
Is H.265 really going to be trending in the next few years?
I plan to watch 1080p movies over the wire in XBMC with it.

Has anybody here used one of these with XBMC? Can it run the official releases, or does it need special modified code to handle hardware accelerated video?

Gbox mx2 is the best one.

Cubox-i is a very capable box.

Gbox MX2 is a great box too.

people in Canada can get them from Amazon.ca for 129.99 with free shipping Smile

My first post as well!

There is a new custom rom available that will allow you to install Gotham as well as fixing a number of issues with the M8. Have a read here http://www.freaktab.com/showthread.php?1...ss-1-5-ROM There is also an updated 1.6 ROM as well which improves on the 1.5

If you go through the whole thread, there are users who have had similar issues and the ROM allowed them run Gotham just fine. There is a whole forum dedicated to the M8 which you will hopefully find useful.

Have fun!

I'm in the exact same position, I've decided to wait for the S812 (or RK3288) boxes with H.265 hardware decoding. As H.265 files sizes are upto 50% less than than the H.264 I think H.265 will be very widely used in a short space of time. I think it would be crazy buying a box without H.265 - I'd rather hold off buying for a couple months and wait for the new boxes to arrive than have years of frustration wishing I had waited!

RK3288 boxes are very close to release, S812 can't be far behind.
