Music doesn't play
#1
Hi all...
ATV 2 + XBMC
When I start to play songs from my library, playback stops at the first second.
XBMC still works (I mean UI, but no sound). But when I press Play button again ATV freezes...
Anybody knows solution the problem?

There is also a well know solution to it: Just add the following to your advancedsettings.xml (works on both ATV and iPad)

<audio>

<defaultplayer>dvdplayer</defaultplayer>

</audio>

I still wonder why it is not set by default to this..

Sorry for being such a n00b, but would anyone please explain to me how i actually get access to that file(advancedsettings.xml)?

Edit:

I've created the file: how do I upload it to my aTV2?

(I'm on a PC, using PuTTy..)

Just upgrade to the latest nightly, as this bug has now been fixed there: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid=107501

Or if for some reason you do want to stay on your current version: you just have to SFTP/SSH into the ATV2 and go to

var/mobile/Library/Preferences/XBMC/userdata/

and create the file. To create the file just make a new text document with the contents as shown at http://forum.xbmc.org/showpost.php?p=825...tcount=294

Save the text document as advancedsettings.xml and copy it over using SFTP/SSH (use FileZilla or Cyberduck for a nice drag-and-drop GUI)

Well, I learned alot just now by using FileZilla. Smile
Big thanks!

(girlfriends asleep by the TV so I can't test any audio playback for now, but I guess it works just fine)

Kinda made everything worse lol. I'm back to dysfunctional/retarded streaming with lagging sounds and random crashes and not being able to play any music.

Hi everyone

I tried all these things you have written and still not working music playback. I did the first update to XBMC 10.09.

Is there a solution? Can I return the old version of 10:07?
Thanks

Update to the latest nightly build, it works with music. You won't need anything in the advancedsettings.xml

xbmc.log please ... i think you didn't update to a nightly build but only to the last available nitotv build which is outdated.

Either follow this:

http://wiki.xbmc.org/index.php?title=Ins...htly_build

Or if you are really sure that you are on the nightly builds already - post the xbmc.log (first link in my sig).

I have download ''xbmc-20111024-c5758bf-master-atv2.deb' 'and now I use Cyberduck software. Where should I put this .deb file?
