This add-on keeps getting better and better. Thanks so much to everyone, in particular janbar and cfetzer, for their hard work.
One feature I notice lacking, but have not seen discussed, regards seeking (more accurately, skipping ahead) in recordings that are not completed yet. In mythfrontend, the "end" of the recording is updated in real time, meaning that one can seek to anywhere between the beginning of the recording and "live." In xbmc, the "end" of the recording is set based on when playback began, meaning one cannot seek past this point, even as the recording grows.
Once playback reaches the supposed "end" of a recording, xbmc realizes that the recording is not actually over and adds a few seconds to recording, allowing playback to continue. It would be nice, though, to be able to jump forward to "live" at any time, though, as in mythfrontend.
The use case for this is: begin watching a sporting event an hour late. Skip commercials and inaction. After 30 minutes, you are 1 hour into the recording that is now actually 1 hour 30 minutes long. At this point, though, you can no longer skip inaction or commercials, because xbmc does not know where the recording ends.
Is this a feature we might see added? Thanks so much again!

Well, at this point the timeshift support is quite rudimentary and very new.
The issue you're describing doesn't need any justification. This is how users expect timeshifting to work.
But it is probably nothing that we can solve in the addon code, it's more the xbmc pvr code that needs some work. (which doesn't mean that we cannot help here.)
Right now, people got their hands full with getting their addons and frodo stable (and it's not only pvr that is new to frodo).
When this has settled, I'd expect more and more features and improvements beeing added to the pvr code.
Technically the issue sounds like the player simply doesn't get updates on the incresing file size.
Probably not much work, but it might require an addon api extension.
Cheers,
Christian

Christian, thanks for the quick reply. I'll check the the xbmc bug trac to see if this issue is raised there. If not, I'll file a bug and they can get to it when they get to it.
