Wake up network drive when awaking from sleep?
#1
I have the newest XBMC running on my revo and its working great, all my content is on my storage drive that is connected to my main computer that i access from the XBMC via smb//192.168... aka local IP

I don't shut down my XBMC i just put it to sleep when not in use, but the drive does take its time spinning up (after going to sleep when not being active) is there a way to get XBMC to wake up the drive right out of sleep resume so when i do click on a video the drive is ready to rock and i don't have to wait for it?

I don't have the skills with Ubuntu to handle this on my own.

Thanks,

How long is the wait?

from sleep XBMC usually times out it take so long... if the time-out was set 5 seconds longer than it probably wouldn't time out.

So right now i click it, it times out, and i click it again and it plays (you can hear the drives spinning up, 5 bay NAS takes time).

the time-out issue isn't the problem, im wondering to avoid waiting at all if i can kick the drive to wake up along with my XBMC instead of waking up the drives on video play.

thanks,
