application create failed

hi Smile

I have just tried to install XBMC.
alll I get is a black screen with an error message

"CApplication::Create() failed Check log file and that it is writable"

I have searched for that log file but can't find it...and searched this board also..
It's a clean win 7 Ultimate install (yesterday) only other .programs added are Open office, Chrome and Avast antivirus.

All win7 are updated 100%

It's a Medion 2.2 dualcore laptop.

Any idea what goes wrong?

I did try to install that bugtrack program, but for now I gave up on that also..
If mor info is needed please let me know..

I do use XBMC on another PC with no problems at all..

Thanx for any help Smile

its probably due to your video card. Update your drivers to the latest. If that doesn't sort it out post a log file on pastebin.com for us to have a look at.

The easiest way to do this is from the Run dialogue:

Code:
notepad %appdata%\xbmc\xbmc.log

and paste the contents to pastebin.com

If you have something like

Code:
NOTICE: Found screen: Generic PnP Monitor on Standard VGA Graphics Adapter, adapter 0.

it would suggest you don't have the correct video drivers installed.
