Slow browsing over deep filestructures
#1
Hi,
I use OpenElec linux version of XBMC. but this seems to be on the "standard" live xbmc also.

I have 2 Readynas NV+ NAS (in RAID5 which arent the fastest NAS around btw)
and a pretty deep filestructure for TV and Movies

It seems like the XBMC is checking through the WHOLE directory structure before letting me access the share, is there any way of changing this so that it only takes the subdirs when you actually browse down to them (or that xbmc could populate the rest in background)

I've tested using DLNA instead of SMB and while its fast it can't sort on DATE which is a buzzkill for me.

I love XBMC and have been using it since its earlier XBOX days and I'm never going to switch so it sucks having to wait upwards of 30-40 seconds before I enter each share.
