Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-S-USB2 - DVB-S receiver
#1
I have just found a usb freesat receiver (Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-S-USB2 - DVB-S ) and was wondering whether this will work as a pvr in xbmc live (needs to be usb as have no free pci slots). Ive seen in some forums that it may not be compatible, although these posts were quite old and help would be appreciated.
Check out my Fanart.tv stuff!
...........I also accept disc requests if image not on fanart.tv database !!!!

and

suggest that the Nova-S-USB2 isn't supported - though things always change.

I think that the tuner is DVB-S only, which these days means SD-only pretty much, as Freesat HD channels are now DVB-S2 (the newer modulation scheme)

There are other USB devices that are supported here :
DVB-S2 (which also do DVB-S) http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DV...SB_Devices
and here
DVB-S http://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/DVB-S_USB_Devices
