XBMC Proxy Settings
#1
I have searched and not found any current information. XBMC has a setting to input a proxy server, I have a friend in Australia that would like to use a US ATV2 to view Hulu and other US content. He already has a paid proxy server that he uses on his iMac and would like to know if he used that same proxy server address in the XBMC settings, would the plug-ins work to allow him to view US content on those plug-ins.

Anyone with experience trying this that could give me advice, would be greatly appreciated.

Not 100% sure - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3972 seems to suggest that the base ATV wont.

When i lived in Oz last year I used another service that you just change the DNS and not the proxy in the ATV, and that worked fine for Iplayer, and Hulu within XBMC.

He could install XBMC for Mac, disable the "general" iMac proxy, and try inputting that proxy into the XBMC settings on the Mac, to test.
