It would be a very nice feature for users to be able to install addon repos and ZIP addons from HTTP directly in XBMC.
That is, without first having to download a ZIP file to local storage in order to add another repo or beta test a addon.
XBMC users could then simply install third-party addon repos and addons without repos by just typing the URL into XBMC's Addon Manager via the GUI and OSD keyboard.
If you have ever jailbreaked a iPhone/iPod/iPad and used Cydia to install apps then you might know that this idea would be similar feature function to how you add third-party repo sources by simply typing in the URL in the Cydia GUI menu under manager sources.
Other nice litte touches to entering the URL is that a "http://" prefix have already been added and you do not need to add a "/" and "repo.xml" or "repo.zip" surfix to the URL.
So adding a third-party repo or addon in XBMC could be made as simple for the user as just typing "myrepo.com" because the code in the background could auto-magically interpret that as "http://myrepo.com/repo.zip", or better yet "http://myrepo.com/repo.xml", and that XML can in turn contain URL to the addon thumbnail and fanart.
Cydia also lets you easily delete sources repos from the same window which is nice for consistency.
Also, if you remove a repo source from your sources list in Cydia then all the app packages corresponding to that repository will be removed too.
