Win XBMC 11 will not start
#16
Yeah shortcut link was the same.

there were multiple C++ Redist 2005, 2008, 2010 x86 & x64 maybe one of these was conflicting with some settings.

went back to backup image of pc (best thing about having a gigabit NAS). install worked first time.

only 1 years worth of windows updates to install Sad

thanks for all your help, wish i had an exact resolution but sometimes it is easier to just start fresh.

kricker - only had c: partition (apart from windows hidden recovery volume), did try the xbmc.exe direct to see if that made any difference, no luck
sureguy - sorry never got to try in root folder (but did try earlier with -p and got same error)

I also have multiple C++ installs in both x86 and x64 flavors. I'm thinking it was something else, but exactly what is the questions. I wish we figured out what the issue was, but at least you got it fixed, so that's good.

Just to update, my problem was just that I was not using SP3 on my XP.

edit: I removed my (this) post, because I am to dumb to read the thread fully.
If someone have the same dumbly nature: Check XP is really really an SP3, if not than install "MS Installer 3.1", and install "Visual C++ 2010 redis..." . Than life will be shiny.

Go here and download the latest sqlite3.dll

http://www.sqlite.org/download.html

then copy it to c:\windows\system32 directory
