Given the same TDP of 65 watts, and assuming the pricing is likely to stay roughly in line, why wouldn't one go for the A10-5700 when it comes?? There doesn't seem to be any disadvantage (except cost).

Yeah but my question is - ignoring cost, so only technical, is there likely to be ANY disadvantage to the trinity chips over the llanos? Honestly, I can afford it given the amount I use my htpc (add this to a silent streacom, is the plan) - I'd rather get it right that save any $s.

There doesn't seem to be any disadvantage (except cost). A10-5700 is the one I am excited about, for sure. I plan to replace my main living room HTPC with it. It's a i3-2100/H61 that's given me a hard time with deinterlacing Live TV 1080i content. I had to put my HD5670 in it which was in the old system it replaced so I was not too happy. The i3-2100/H61 will make a nice upgrade to my office PC . I will wait to see prices though, especially compared to Ivy Bridge i3-3225 when it comes out.
