Linux [release] plugin.video.x-sopcast-0.2.21
#61
This is great. Thanks for this.

I'm having a little problem though. I can't seem to stop the streams. If I hit stop xbmc goes back to the home menu then back to the video. I have to restart to stop the stream.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks.

I found a solution for the "script failed" error. This happens when application try to set correct permissions for sp-sc executable. To resolve this issue just comment line 163 in default.py which is in ~/.xbmc/addons/plugin.video.x.sopcast.
I've done this for version 0.2.6 but I think it could be valid also for 0.2.10.

Hope this helps.

"comment line 163"

Can you explain more?

just put a "#" at the beginning of the line number 163 where it's written:
"os.chmod(SPSC,0755) # set the correct permission each time as we want to absolutely sure it's executable"

as you can see developers commented that statement in following line but the forgot to delete the previous one Smile

edit:
for version 0.2.10 the line to comment is 198

Yep, is the same solution that I posted: http://forum.xbmc.org/showthread.php?tid...pid1188907

Yesterday I was watching 4-5 sop RO SPORTS channels and all is working perfectly! (version 0.2.6).

Cant seem to get this working - im always getting the script failed error - the channels seems to download OK but when viewing anything I get script failed

never used sopcast so its all a bit new to me

Here the important part of the log I think

http://pastebin.com/wJP4p0w7

Any advice?

Ive tried both sopcast versions on ubuntu server 12.04 and Aeon MQ4 Skin (running Eden)

Ive installed the required files to /usr/lib as suggested and set permissions and commented out the lines in the script but still get this error

Thanks

Have you installed the sp-auth files in the plugin directory like was said in page 4? In my case the plugin didnt installed this files automatically, so it solved my problems.

If anyone have problems with the add-on, here is my x-sopcast 0.2.6 running perfectly (with latest channels from the 0.2.10 version):

http://www.mediafire.com/?fc03rsfhsqps75e (Download it to /home/YOURUSERNAME)

Howto:

Quote:1. Download the library files from: http://www.sopcast.com/download/libstdcpp5.tgz Download it to /home/YOURUSERNAME

2. Open a terminal and write: sudo tar -zxvf libstdcpp5.tgz

3. In the same terminal write: cd usr and then cd lib

4. In the same terminal write: sudo cp libstdc++.so.5.0.1 /usr/lib and then sudo cp libstdc++.so.5 /usr/lib close this terminal.

5. Open a new terminal and write: sudo apt-get install unzip and then unzip plugin.video.x-sopcast.zip

6. In the same terminal write: sudo cp -r plugin.video.x-sopcast /home/YOURUSERNAME/.xbmc/addons overwrite if the system ask for it.

7. In the same terminal write: sudo chmod -R 755 /home/YOURUSERNAME/.xbmc/addons/plugin.video.x-sopcast

8. Open XBMC and enjoy it Smile

Tip: Some times some sop channels (specially the RO Sports channels) is not viewing (pop-up with "this sopcast channel failed" message), in that case try again 1-2 times more, normally the second time the channel was working correctly. This bug appears because some channels needs more than 20 seconds waiting setted by default.

Tested with XBMC 11 and latest nightly (XBMC 12 Frodo Alpha 5), with confluence and Aeon Nox 3.6 and all is working perfectly.

Regards!

Logout XBMC (under Shutdown, go down and push 'Exit') and then log in XBMCBuntu (NOT Openbox).

My friend I will buy you a beer whenever we shall meet. It WORKS. Just exactly as you narated.

Thank you so much. It works just fine on my VBox machine, now I have to port the configuration to my Raspbmc.

Will be posting any issues that I will have with that process.

Thank you again for your time and effort.
