I am recording Fareed Zakaria GPS live with a Ceton Tuner using Windows Media Center. The resulting file is WTV with air date and time info as part of the file name. I wqant to then play this file with XBMC. My problem is that the show itself does not have any relevant season or episode information in TVDB, and hence, it seems that no matter how I name it, XBMC will not see the file nor include it in the library for playback. I have tried conversion to DVR-MS, AVI, MP4 and MKV and I get the same result, so I suspect the problem lies in the naming convention itself, and not the file format. The show is a news show that has been running weekly since 2008.
Can someone suggest the proper naming convention so that it shows up in my library? I am running Eden on a Windows platform, but I think the problem is platform independent.

If the TVDB doesn't have it then XBMC can't scrape it from anything. This is the listing so far: http://thetvdb.com/?tab=series&id=256533&lid=7 You will have to sign up to TVDB and add the listings yourself to then scrape from it.

Whoops. My bad.
As deanmv says, no naming convention will help you if the info isn't there to scrape. Flirc now has a forum: forum.flirc.tv |

You can always create an NFO file using your own information and season/episode numbers, which will then allow you to add that video to your library without reliance on TVDB.com.

Creating nfo's mean that other users can't benefit from your inputting of data. It's up to you.
All the stuff that is scraped from thetvdb was inputted by someone. Flirc now has a forum: forum.flirc.tv |

There doesn't seem to be any consistent season or episode naming anywhere for this show, so maybe they can just make one up. Thanks for your guidance. |
