I know this is a relatively common problem but despite looking at other peoples "solutions" I still can't get audio to come out of the HDMI port. I have an NVIDIA 8400GS if that makes a difference. And to be clear I can't get audio over HDMI either through XBMC or XBMCbuntu side of things (though it works over analog). Any suggestions?

What have you tried? Because people are probably going to be listing things you have already done...

Have you set onboard audio to enabled instead of auto in your bios?
Cable from motherboard audio-out to videocard? (depends on motherboard if you need it)
