It would be great if you could 'help' the scanner per tv show. For example, by including an additional tag in your .nfo (which is already tv show/season specific), that indicates the file name format, similar to the advancedsettings.xml.
This would also apply to movie stacking.
This may be a solution, but I've not used RegExp one bit. I'm an obsessive renamer, and can't stand all the release group nonsense contained in file names
