I'm not entirely sure how to set up the asound.conf for use of botrh HDMI and S/PDIF audio devices on an ASRock E350M1 board (and S/PDIF is unmuted in alsamixer.) It has the 6310 and has the devices listed as such:
aplay -l
and aplay -L
I found this thread that involves an nvidia system doing this, but I don't really understand how the asound.conf would translate.

It's well over my head on how to do this. I only ask since I want to set the system up where I can use HDMI to use the sound through the TV for when I watch video and I can have the TV off for when I just want music while using the android remote for controlling. I'd be very thankful if someone can help me on this please.
aplay -l
