Hi everyone. This is my first post, even though I'm an active reader since I'm planning to replace my 3 years old xtreamer for a brand new custom HTPC, and as I'm flying to USA for a week (I'm from Chile) I need to be pretty sure what to buy!
Following Assassin recommendations (http://assassinhtpcblog.com/?page_id=160), I think I finally have chosen all the needed parts, and would like to get your feedback to avoid mistakes when buying. I just only want to have a silent and small (VESA mount) device for my bedroom. All my media are stored on NAS server, so I don't need local storage in the HTPC.
This is the setup I've in mind:
- ASRock H77M-ITX LGA 1155 Intel H77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Mini ITX Intel Motherboard
- Intel Core i3-3225
- G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)
- Antec ISK 110 VESA Black ABS plastic
- Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" 128GB SATA III MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD)
I chose i3-3225 because I want to keep this HTPC for a while, and I've read wonderful for this new CPU. This is a must for me, everything else could be changed
I have 2 questions:
- Will the case's PSU be enough (90W) or I would need another (PicoPSU)?
- Will the CPU fan (and all the parts actually) fits into the case?
Thank you very much for any feedback you can give!
Best,
Carlos
